I learned how to make kosher sushi in one of my last jobs. It's not only extremely fun to make, but the entire process is very detailed. It's one of the only foods I've ever worked with that you actually want to eat while making it. Now that I think of it, aspie kids would probably love making it.

Sushi is raw fish, right?

Bethie: not necessarily. There are lots of types of sushi which are vegan and vegetarian. The problem is that the Japanese will throw meat and fish into everything, if given the chance.

One of my favorite rolls to make is just avocado, cucumber, and carrot.

My favorite roll to make and eat, though, is salmon avocado.

The only real cost to making sushi is getting a good knife, and the yakinori seaweed wrap. As long as you've got these, a cheap bamboo mat, and a way of making seasoned rice, you can make sushi out of pretty much anything you have on hand.

I once made "dessert sushi" using sweetened rice (almost to the point of being rice pudding), strawberry, flakes of chocolate, and whipped cream.

ETA: It looked like this, but inside out (the filling was on the inside). Instead of yakinori, I used rice paper.

Oh, and before you ask: It is definitely not recommended to engage in any kind of intimacy after eating such a meal, without first washing and brushing everything that may possibly have come in contact with the 855,000 Scoville unit pepper.

Those are some alarming peppers.

Men who cook= awesome.

He does sound like a great cook!

Let's buy him this cookbook, the most expensive cookbook in the world:

Bah. They did do very cool stuff on the chemistry of cooking, but this is mostly how I view them:

http://achewood.com/comic.php?date=01262007

I would like to try sous-vide sometime, but I'll have to hack it together as I can't afford to spend more than $1,200 on a recycled thermal immersion circulator or custom sous-vide kit.

Why is the number always two? The only women I can name who have that amount of sexual partners are children and religious fanatics(fanatic as in strident or devoted not as in crazy ima shank you.).

Lest you think the Achewood comic in the last post was exaggeration:

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/foodmont ... 22,00.html

"He accepts that, by pairing mustard ice creams with red-cabbage gazpacho, sprinkling cocoa powder over cauliflower risotto and making snail porridge, he has pushed back the boundaries on flavour combinations."

Whoa! I'm impressed, Gravitas.

When I ask for hot sauce at most restaurants and get Tobasco (which I can't even taste, thanks to sensory stuff)
I get the impression most people have no dealings with real heat.

It said two in a year... lol

Anyway, I'm not going to bash men. I find it rather counter-productive. Sorry OP.

Women are all whores, yo.

Cause if that's the case it TOTALLY backs up the point of the poster.
