Is this kind of music inappropriate for a romantic dinner?

A lot of 18 year old girls can dig that but, if you're looking for something newer to mash it up with... I don't know....Jamiroquai? Black Joe Louis? There's a lot of funky/uplifting stuff out there that rings sincere, I don't know though, since you're probably 10 years younger than me, what's resonating with guys your age right now and, hence, what specific choices would make add to the atmosphere for both of you. Adele? Muse? Killers? There's lots of stuff out there.
I don't know. I like the old stuff but I'm not sure someone my age would. What's the best Sinatra album to buy anyway? Critics seems to say to stay away from compilations.
I like Perry Como better than Sinatra, just sayin'.
I might be terrible, but I love a lot of Japanese music, so here's some suggestions from Japan!
Ryuichi Sakamoto - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Ryuichi Sakamoto - Amore
Ryuichi Sakamoto - Fade
Toshiki Kadomatsu - Sea Line
Those are lyricless, so she won't go "aha, Japanese music!" BTW, that entire Toshiki Kadomatsu album, Sea is a Lady, entirely fantastic album. I love it. PM me if you want it, I'll send it. It's all really super high quality jazz fusion. I love jazz fusion.
Now, for non-Japanese.
Yes - Wonderous Stories Prog rock, but very nice and slow
Yes - Turn of the Century
Thomas Dolby - Budapest by Blimp Thomas Dolby is...whatever he feels like. This song is a nice fairly slow song, though.
Shakatak - Night Birds Shakatak is a British jazz fusion group.
Shakatak - Fly the Wind
Activ - Lumini Alabastre Activ is a Romanian electronic pop group, but this is all instrumental, and quite fitting, imo.Deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember House music, more or less, but man, chicks love this song. On more than one occasion I've played this Friday night at an ice skating rink or something, and I've seen girls instantly just go really really close to their boyfriend who brought them there.
Chaka Khan - I Feel For You Old R&B, very poppy and upbeat, though.
Iio - Kiss You more house techno type stuff, in my experience chicks dig it from responses at the skating rink
Iio - Run Away (Original Serenity Remix)
Iio - Rapture
Iio - Is It Love
Justin Timberlake - My Love (Paul Oakenfold remix)
The Cardigans - Love Fool Altrockishpop stuff from the 90s, prolly heard it before, I don't know, a girl was playing this song at the skating rink and I liked it.
Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles Self explanatory.
Keith Washington - Kissing You Old slow R&B. Awesome.
Sade - No Ordinary Love Slow R&B, again, I like this kind of stuff.
Modjo - Lady Hear Me Tonight French house, pretty great.
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You same type of stuff.
Natasha Hagen - Que Sera Eurodanceish stuff from the 90s, but not vapid.
The System - Don't Disturb This Groove Old R&B, great.
Anita Baker - Sweet Love More old R&B.
I'm somewhat experienced in this, and somewhat dumb as well. I go ice skating everyday, there's girls there, girls my age. I'm the one playing music like 80% of the time during public sessions with anywhere from 5-30+ other people. In my experience, chicks like high school age if with their boyfriends or whatever would like immediately get close to eachother if I started playing the romanticish house music stuff. But, I've been complimented how beautiful some of my other music is, by women who are like, older. Other times, I just don't win at all. It's a different situation, though, ideally, my music would be just for me, and I'd play ridiculous candy eurobeat the entire time, but if it pisses off other people, you know, that's not quite "do unto others." So generally, I try to find a middle ground of sorts usually. Uh, one particular girl I knew was with her boyfriend, and she liked the anime music I was playing, but she was Asian and I'm fairly certain liked anime to a degree. However, I've also never had a girlfriend ever, so I have no personal experience in any of this, just observations.
There's stuff I would play. I'd say you'd want to vary the music, just so she and you don't get bored of one particular type playing for an hour. Then again, you could also say it's dumb to even plans things out like this, and just when the girl gets there, you could ask what kind of music she likes, she can find out what you like, etc.
