Correlation between liking anime and being dateless
I think if two Anime fans meet at a Comic Con or through a website or extra curricular club they can find someone to date. I set up my AS friend with a girl I knew who like anime and they got along well for a few months. Personally, I think that it's an icebreaker and that it could possibly be easier to find someone to date if you joined a club or group where there were a bunch of other people who liked it. And they might be in that same situation.
Sure, but they'll become more obsessed as women reject them. The ones women are attracted to will drift away from their hobbies or at least not spend as much time on them.
Being dateless gives you time to watch anime
Yup.

no, really there is not any evidence of that being the case. many married men (and women) still have obsessions in spite of being married. and a 12-year old who has never been rejected could be just as obsessed as a man who is unlucky in love. you are applying your own bias to other people's obsessions, and you have no basis to do so.

i wanted to post again right after you to make a sandwich.
so now i need to make another post... hmmmm.... anime, dating, something.... oh my daughter used to cosplay and lots of her male friends had girlfriends. and they were into anime. but that is entirely anecdotal.

Anime presents an ideal in terms of personality and body time. Tsundere's are typically slim whilst the "moe" characters are curvy as all hell. So when we try to apply that to real life, we find that the really cute girls are slim whilst the tsundere's are curvy.
Fortunately, we have conventions to go hunti...I mean browsi...I mean...f**k. >.<
Try and find conventions and go to 'em. If you can find a girl that loves anime, games or sci-fi books or even tentacle porn as much as you do, she's the one.
Anyone who likes or is turned on by tentacle porn has got issues. At least that's my opinion.
It's not just my experience...it's the experience of millions of men who simply can't get a date.
It's not just my experience...it's the experience of millions of men who simply can't get a date.
and all those millions are supposedly more obsessed with anime than regular men or more obsessed than teenagers? actually.... no.
it just doesn't work to turn it back on women.

I totally agree with Hyperlexian. You're projecting your own case onto others who seem to be in the same situation. It's true some people who are chronically rejected retreat into their hobbies, but a huge anime fan can still get love, or at least some nookie. They just can't be super strange.
People will drift away from these obsessions (at least to an extent) when they start growing up and getting serious about life.

Most geek girls are so immature and maladjusted, theres not a chance in hell the relationship would be meaningful. Even another geek guy might feel like he's baby sitting her.
And you've met all the geek girls in the world in order to make this assessment have you?
In my experience, the conventions I've gone to (not anime but Star Wars, Gen Con, Fantasy, etc), the geek girls I've met are awesome sauce. They're fun, light-hearted, smart, witty. In particular, they have a self-confidence that is endearing.
Depends on the geek. If they look normal, have normal social skills, and have a normal social life, yeah, why not. If they act like big kids, spend 14 hours a day on the PC, and wear Voltron shirts, most women wouldn't go near them. Which leads me to this next point I'd like to make!
There was one HUGE exception I saw, and I swear to god this is true. There was this pod of computers at college some years back, and a group of gamers sat there all day, every day, all semester, playing some MMO. Among them, there was a guy/girl couple. The dude looked like a real life, mentally stunted version of 2-D from Gorillaz. It seemed like he had almost no personality, and when he talked, he sounded... well I could impersonate him, but not describe him. He sounded half dead, there you go. His girlfriend, in my opinion, was just so cute I couldn't believe it. I'm not the only one who thought so. She was half way between average and plus size, very healthy looking, long gold brown hair in pony tail, and had these huge blue-green eyes. She was a gamer herself, always laughing and joking (but not "holler" laughing) and was really sweet and personable. She wasn't stereotypically beautiful, but she was still very attractive, and like I said, a decent person. That's normally not the kind of thing I see though. I don't know what she saw in him, but he was lucky to have her, IMO.
Granted but you don't have enough info about this couple to assume anything. You can't know whether he's just sick or has a condition like aspies have. And if you want girls to date you even that you have AS, maybe it's the same for him. And besides you met him just for a sec. Perhaps he's a really sweet guy and if he makes his girl happy, why would they not be together?

I never said I only met him for a sec. I knew him for a semester. I went to his apartment across the street a few times. I didn't know either of them that WELL, but from the outside looking in, it just seemed unusual.
Who the f*** are we kidding, women usually don't go for men like that, especially ones considered attractive!

You still seem to not know him very well. Did he open up to you? shared secrets with you? yup, we aspies also seem a bit "weird" and quirky and in some cases you can see something is wrong with them when you get to know them but you don't know what. You still don't have enough info again maybe he makes his girl happy. Maybe he's very caring towards her and take her places she likes. You know love exists anywhere, no-one is unworthy of love! so don't underestimate someone based on outside looking because true beauty comes from the inside, not the outside.
Women might surprise you. Have you been in a relationship once? because know that. If you love someone, it's as if you see him without his flaws. He becomes the most beautiful person to you even if he's average looking. You dream about him/her and want to be with each other because something bonds you together. This is true love and sure I too can't tell to much by the description of this couple you gave me bbut don't interrupt lovers in love

I didn't say it was always anime. In fact, I explicitly said I'm not an anime fan. In fact, I've never watched a full one.
But yeah, guys like me will become obsessed with something else.
Sure it does. The dating game is rigged in favor of them at every turn. Again, let's take a woman and man who are both 5/10 on the looks scale and put both of their pics on a dating site. Guess which one's going to get a hundred responses within a week and which one will get none?

for the umpteenth* time... men and women marry in equal numbers. so what if women have more offers if none of them work out? there is nothing rigged about it if just as many women as men die alone.
YOU might be obsessed with things *because* you are alone, and the next person may be equally obsessed simply *because* he is an aspie, and the next person may be totally obsessed *because* he just love stamps. or trains. it isn't necessarily because they have been rejected.
you have said you are very educated. perhaps you can find some kind of proof that shows that it is wholly or even mostly rejection from women that leads men to various obsessions. otherwise... it's still just something you've personally conconcted in an attempt to blame all women for your unhappiness. it won't stick because it is an empty theory.
* changed it because i haven't kept count of how many times i have explained this math on WP
