That what I would do as next experiment (and I won't): I would post a troll face ;p.

its pretty much what i did. In the end the one with the okc tips did attain the highest score by a long shot, but its not a picture i would use on a regular dating site as it would make me seem like a bit of a meathead. So theres a good dilema for the time being. Meathead and god looking or normal and not as good looking.

Ok, so what have we learned here? Never be yourself if you want to appear hot to the camera? I guess it's not surprising: to be conventionally "hot", you must strike a "hot" pose or convey such attitude. Being hot is not about your face or your muscles - it's about the pose and the way you communicate with the camera. Just look at any paparazzi shot of any celebrity that is hailed as hot. Compare that to their magazine photo-shoots. There's so much difference. Most of them are either plain or ugly in the paparazzi shots but look hot in professional photos, EVEN if there was no Photoshop intervention.

Boo, you are a good looking lad, but that photo doesn't do you justice. Don't take this site's rejection as a true representation of what women might think of your physical appearance.

MXH, if you were ridiculed for your physical appearance as a kid and as a teen, it stays with you even if you're better looking now. In your mind, you stay the "ugly kid", but that's not a bad thing. It makes you less egoistical and less prone to the "I'm *teh* hottest guy on Earth, you should be happy I pay attention to you" jerk attitude.

emlion, you a re a girl and I think girls receive better results on dating sites. We don't know what results would a boob revealing shot bring, but this picture of you is beautiful, because it shows your eyes. You have very beautiful, expressive eyes.

I won't take this site for anything.

Yet I can't see how this photo doesn't do me justice, it just shows my whole face and clothed body perfectly. It's one of the clearest shots I ever had.

I don't know about whether or not the photo does you justice, but I believe her when she says you're good looking. In my view, however, you're not good looking enough to be considered a model in looks. And that's what explains the low scores.

Fortunately, you're a man. Looks aren't what makes a man attractive. It's the attitude and status, regardless of looks, that makes a man attractive to women in general.

Can't disagree here , and it's only the married or the much older women ever called me good looking btw.

Yes, but average and good looking are not mutually exclusive.

I've found very average looking girls to look quite good in my eyes without seeing them as hot super models. For example, you're average, too.

It doesn't do your justice because it's a crappy pose. The chair takes half of the picture. You look bored, you look like you can sit straight.

But, the most important, you didn't communicate/flirt with the camera.

He's not Johnny Depp/Blair Underwood if that's what you mean. He's not drop dead gorgeous, but he's decent looking enough. He's better looking than he's given credit for.

Well, you're probably right.

It doesn't matter anyways, it's just a photo and a website.

I am going to try it. I have 48 hours. The only rating so far is "Absolutely not" for this picture:

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/ ... G0208A.jpg

I have another four supposedly good photos to try, none of them appropriate for a dating profile, but all of them being accurate depictions of myself. I do not smile in any of them and the current photo is the only one where I am not looking directly at the camera. There is also a shirtless pic on the line, even though my body is average (would be considered athletic if it were not for my fairly noticeable gut).

I am expecting bad results, but I love train wrecks.
