Is that a bad thing to you?

I'm with OSB (if I understood what she said). The letter-writing exercise is supposed to be cathartic and a way to organize your thoughts, but you're not supposed to send the letter or engage in any way. I can imagine getting to the end of my letter and then looking around for stamps. I think have more patience and context-based judgment now that I'm older, but I TOTALLY would have sent a letter when I was younger.

Yea I butchered that wording quite a bit. What I meant to say to ask really everyone is it best to just keep that letter? I mean then again it is personal choice but maybe I just have a problem with letting some past feelings go. I never understood how writing it and then even burning the letter like some people do helps. I hope this is a bit clearer.

I write a lot of things I never share. There are just some things that are for me and me alone.

There are many things I leave unsaid, many things I can't bring myself to reveal. It's not that I'm being secretive, I often don't see the point. Relevance is quite important to me, and how I feel about someone I can't have a relationship with is irrelevant.

i find it hard to coherently write down all my feelings though and if i managed it i'd be a bit chuffed and want someone to see

i don't tend to really think emotions in words so it's like i need to translate, and that takes a lot of work. I was the same with maths at school- somehow i'd just instinctively know the answers to algebra, without knowing quite how i got there so it wouldn't get full marks.

if they're for me and me only i keep them in my head where they don't need to necessarily be in english

anyway, just my 2cents on why it wouldn't work for me

Ah, that makes sense. I have very little problem expressing myself through the written word. I do have to go through the translation you describe, though.

I was (and still am) the same way with math. Explaining how I get the answer has always been a bit difficult, and I hate taking the time to work it out to get there.

Also, I find writing helps me better understand exactly what it is I've been feeling and calms my racing mind.

Maybe that's why we all love WP?!

It is one of the reasons for me.

As for your earlier question in this thread, I don't really want to lay it all out here. It's personal.

I understand totally. You helped me to rethink some of my posts as well.
