Happy Valentines day Gadge! When I read that I said "Well I'm going to wish him a happy V Day on the 14th" but I'll forget by then because I forget everything lately, so I'm wishing you one now. If you have a memory that works, unlike me, remember it then and pretend I said it on that day. :-)

No, bad experiences and all that, the best one being the anonymous valentines card that was pinned up on the college notice board, didn't end well........

Valentine's day is officially cancelled this year.

Proof? 14-2-12 = 0

I don't think I've ever had a Valentine's Day celebration. I've been unpartnered for most of my life, and the two long-term partners I had weren't into it. I think it would be really weird for me to celebrate it, since I don't really understand conventional concepts of "romance".

My ex-husband and I met on Feb. 15, so we used to do something special (minor, just acknowledging) on that day.

No. I would not even if I were in a relationship. I do not celebrate holidays at all. For example, my parents are used to my reluctancy to wish them happy Mother's/Father's Day and everybody who knows me knows better than to expect "Merry Christmas", "Happy New Year" or "Happy Birthday" from me.

Amazing! My dreams are coming true because of your post. Single Awareness Day will not exist this year. XD

I think 2/13 will drift right into 2/15 for me and I'll barely notice there was a day in between.

I think that'll be the case for a lot of people, actually, since it's falling on a Tuesday and most couples will wait until this weekend to celebrate.

Personally, I like to cook and it's an excuse to make a fancy, romantic meal, so I'm all about that part of it. Not sure what I'm making yet, but it'll be good.

Sounds awesome. Definitely share a photo of it if you go all out. :)

My daughter and her fiance went out this past Saturday night for v day. I think they will exchange gifts on the actual day though.

Only if eating those candy hearts qualifies!
Seriously, this sadistic holiday was forced on me in Elementary school. I had to send cards to all the girls in my class. Guess what? No one of them ever sent me a single one back, though we were supposed to.
I was the essential Charlie Brown of V. Day. <Growl>
Any time as an adult that I've tried to send a card as almost always brought a negative reaction.
Just a trick to seperate our cash from our wallets IME & IMHO!

Sincerely,
Matthew

Celebrate may be a strong word. There will be chocolate and a card and mushy words exchanged. Nothing too celebratorish.

New years? That's a celebratin' holiday!

I imagine I would if I had some one to celebrate it with. But so far, nope.
