Hard to beat that. Talking in asterisks is exceedingly creepy.

What does it say, though? I'll offer some explanations.

"He wanted to fertilize a field with manure for a week while high on remains of apple barrels." - the ol' countryside.
"He wanted to rule a country with an iron fist for a decade while cheating on taxes with apple barrels." - Berlusconi could pull that off.
"He wanted to beget a divine blessing with enough cake for a lifetime while not being very keen on having too many apple barrels." - Entitlement, much?

Although this was not creepy by any means, but it did creep me out somewhat mildly. There was some cute girl in my college classes during the last year of college. I was 23 at the time. More often than not, I would catch her staring at me. One day I wore my Team Germany soccer jersey to class. A couple days later, she asked me for some help in the computer lab when I saw her across the table from where I was. She was wearing a Team Germany soccer jersey of her own. After I finished helping her, she then said to me "Like my shirt?" I replied with "Yeah, I wore my shirt the other day." She then said "Yeah, that's why I am wearing it today." Although her intention was probably a good and friendly one and to make conversation, the words sounded a little on the creepy side to me. I didn't really approach her again.

Just to rattle a few off the top of my head ...

A guy who was interested in me sort of tried to stalk me, but wasn't able to be very successful at it, since he didn't have a car and I lived too far away. However, he learned that my boyfriend at the time lived just a few blocks away from him and would walk to his apartment while he was at work and leave notes taped to his door. We were talking about going to the cops, but it sort of stopped abruptly on it's own.

The mother of that same ex-boyfriend (the one getting the creepy notes taped to his doors) has mental health problems and took a strong dislike to me. (I don't mean that anyone who dislikes me must be crazy; she actually has problems with paranoia and decided I was out to get her). She sent me a letter in the mail that was laced with vague and bizarre threats and I wound up having to go the cops that time around.

I also had a male friend who was hospitalized after having a psychotic break or nervous breakdown or something tell me that what got him through the hospitalization was thinking of me and not in a platonic way. It was really sad and unnerving at the same time.

i have probably DONE more creepy actions than i have EXPERIENCED from other people, but lemme dredge up something...

when i was a teacher of students aged 9 to 13, there was an older brother of one student (about 15 years old) who used to sing "Baby Got Back" whenever i walked by. it took me months to realise he was referring to me. i thought he just really liked the song. but then he tried to get me alone a few times and i finally figured it out. awkward.

OK, I did see the troll tags, but still... nope. It wouldn't be creepy for anyone to approach respectfully and say "Hey, I totally understand if you're not interested but I'll regret it if I don't even ask - would you like to go on a date sometime?" And then, if the answer's no, back off and never ask again. Anyone who seriously thinks that's creepy is being unreasonable and expecting people to psychically divine whether they'll find them attractive.

What is creepy is forcing romantic attentions or making huge, heartfelt declarations of love without first establishing whether they're welcome. If it turns out they are welcome, then that's just a massive stroke of luck for the creep.

I wish I had that luck. I was accused of being creepy although I didn't realize I was. Apparently what I was doing was being interpreted as flirting. I couldn't flirt if I tried. I thought I was just being nice.

Well when I was in high school I had a guy steal some lipstick from my purse and then a couple of nights later he came and tore the screen to my window and wrote a bunch of things like "i love you" "you are mine" "david and chelsea 4 ever". 8O

and another time I went out with this guy I had met on the net and he was extremely nice but I wasnt interested in him romantically so I told him that and he was fine with it. Well pretty soon he started showing up at my work looking for me(i worked in the ladies underwear department) and he would find me and just walk around the ladies department looking at the underwear and at me. One day he even bought some underwear form me and then sent them to my house as a gift, it got so bad of him coming to my work and following me and stuff that I had to be escorted to the food court if I wanted to go get my lunch so he wouldnt approach me and start demanding why i wasnt into him. He was finally banned from the place I worked so he stopped coming around and got the message.

The messed up part is, I've gotten called creepy simply for saying hi, and for other innocuous stuff like reading a book or playing my PSP.

One time a guy followed me home from the bar and was walking up and down the street by my house and whistling.

A couple of times in grade school boys exposed themself to me. One did it when he was in front of the boy's bathroom door and I was in front of the girl one. I just stood there not responding hoping a teacher would walk up and see. The other time I was in the principal's office and a boy younger than me kept exposing himself and asking me to show him mine.

I doubt it was on purpose, but thinking everything I write is about them. 8O

Also encountered the opposite - which is more soul-destroying than creepy - but someone who destroyed/triggered me several times and basically denies to me she could have done that,

When I was living in a college I used to order pizzas online from Domino's and on the website you have to type in your name and a number. Anyway I noticed I was having the same delivery guy about every other time or so and he kept commenting about my appearance even though I looked like s**t but I just said thank you and didn't think anything of it. One day he talked more and asked me questions like "do you go clubbing?" and stuff like that and he kept insisting that I go to one with him even though I said I don't do that kind of thing. Anyway next day he kept calling me. I knew it was him because he had my number from Domino's. My phone kept ringing everywhere I went and people stared at me on the bus when I ignored the calls. This went on for about a week. Eventually he stopped calling though, but while I was living there I could never order pizza again. :(

when I was in my late twenties I was a salesclerk in a stationery store.

BTW: I happened to be of the male persuasion.

A well dressed executive type gentleman my dads age who was a regular customer in the store came in the door and started to browse the pens.

Since I had seen him a zillion times in the store I thought it might be nice to acknowledge his presence for once.

So I said "hello" to him.

His eyes lit up and instantly cornered me- pulled out his wallet -showed me his gold card- and started to explain to me that he was "rich.but .people think that all rich people are gay..but im not gay, but im rich.."

I kinda backed away slowly from him while he continued to repeat that point that he was NOT gay...but WAS rich.

The young lady store manager overheard some of the conversation and asked me "what did you SAY to him [to prompt him to act that way]" I said "all I said was 'hello'".

Apparently he had been seething with lust for me for a long time. And was willing to pay for my company!

On one hand.. Im disturbed that he thought I was such a cheap slut!

On the other hand... I do kinda miss the attention. I guess Im not the young hottie I used to be!

Lol!

i actually have a restraining order on my pizza delivory drivor creep. i am still too scared to ever order takeaway. (this story is best left in adult forum).

Another creepy thing ws when i was 16 and first at uni, i had a composition lecturer who was really into me and would try to corner me in his office and stuff. My boyfriend who was a masters comp student ended up going to the dean of the uni. He would say things like "i have never seen anyone play the viola as erotically". Ewww.

At the same uni there was a Greek man who transfered and was really feral and could barely speak english and he would always try to sit next yo me or give me eyes and try stroking my arms ect. He was 40ish. ewww

I wont go into when i worked as a promotions model for the v8supercars. 8O
