Threads like these make me feel proud to look like Mick Avory.

Fat is something that people have on their body, not something that they ARE. I think challenging the terms we use to describe each other also challenges the ways we treat each other. I like to treat people as whole people and with respect.

I'm NOT criticizing anyone's preference as far as a potential date goes; we're all attracted to different physical features for different reasons. I'm just thinking about the way people treat each other in general.

I find it amusing that to my left RIGHT NOW is an ad for a Big, Beautiful, Black Women dating site.

I think most dating sites let you search by bodytype. Typical words used include bbw, curvy, a few extra pounds and I think there are a few more as well. I don't care much for BBW's but if you like them than that's cool.

Of course there are! And not all of them are the "younger" guys either. I've always appreciated a "curvy" girl over the stick figures. (Probably because I'm not little myself and I'm afraid that I would hurt a skinny little lady.)

I find bigger girls just as cute as the not so bigger ones.

On "big" vs. "fat" I agree with hyperlexian. It makes more sense for people who are attracted to bigger people to NOT call them fat since that is mostly considered derogatory. (I think it was hyperlexian who said that anyway). Even the word "chubby" is kind of a gray area.

This girl that I have kind of liked for about 3 months now is a BBW. She is just adorable. The main reason I don't say anything to her or ask her out, besides knowing she'd reject me, is because she goes to college about 3 hours away from here, so I almost never see her (I've described this girl in a previous thread I made). Only at work do I ever see her. She doesn't graduate for another almost 4 years.
