Negative, commander. Anything past a bit of chubbiness rapidly blasts away a woman's attractiveness for me, maybe cause all my female relatives tend to be fat.

I didn't do it as a study of "what it's like to date fat people". :P

Could you be more specific? I have trouble with open-ended questions.

Would I date a fat woman? I don't know, but I rather not. I would have problems on the sex part with overweight women.

If I like her - sure!

(Of course, there's a world of difference between "fat" and "obese".)

Yes, but only if:
(a) He's not a hypocritical fat man who only dates skinny chicks (look in the mirror, people).
(b) He's comfortable with his weight (save me the sole burden of having to make him feel good all the time).

I wouldn't give skinny women a pass either though. I've met people who just expect the other person to do all the work and figure they did enough by showing up. If someone has the right genes, they can be lazy, selfish, and skinny.

There's nothing as unattractive as being desperate either.

Weight doesn't determine how lazy or desperate someone can be. It only determines how much s**t your drinking buddies will give you over it.

No, I wouldn't. I've tried dating 2-3 overweight women who I really seemed to connect well with, but I just wasn't physically attracted to them in the least, and couldn't get past that. They actually didn't look bad aside from their weight, they were just about 50 pounds too heavy. Not to mention, most heavier people have trouble keeping up with me in most of my hobbies so it can be tough for us to do some of those things together. I have absolutely nothing against heavier people (the ones who actually respect their own bodies that is, and don't completely gorge themselves on terrible foods) and I honestly wish I could be more attracted to heavier women, but I just wasn't programmed that way I guess.

Nope.

Anything more than 30lbs over my weight and I'm not interested. I'll be their friends.. but I don't want to date them.

All my partners were fat. My husband was fat when we met and started dating. he has lost tons of weight since then. He decided to lose weight just for me so I would be sexually attracted to him. He is still fat but not huge either.

Here's the thing:What is fat?obese? By clinical standards I'm overweight and I am trying to lose some but not as much as they say I should. I'm glad my Aspie guy never had a problem with my weight. He would always reassure me I was attractive at the weight I was. Certain ethnicities have a little "extra" in certain places. And I'm not trying to lose my a$$ets!

I had that problem with my last boyfriend. He was huge, and he wouldn't do anything about it, but he would b***h about it a lot.
I found it hard knowing what to say to "I'm fat!". Anything other than "Yes you are, you're huge!" would have been a blatant lie. I just skirted the issue by saying that I still found him attractive, which was true. It didn't seem to reduce his insecurity, though.

i got to wondering about people's opinions regarding obesity, and who they would date. i suspect that the medical definition of obese is a different from the popular culture definition.

1. which one of these bodies qualifies as obese in your opinion (not morbidly obese, just obese)?

2. which one is the biggest size you would date?

Image

please DO NOT snark on the pictures as people here on WrongPlanet actually look like all of these silhouettes. i see that people have been respectful in the thread so far, and that is very much appreciated - it is fine to have a preference, just don't be nasty about whichever types that you don't prefer.
