But what if you ate that same cake in the fridge for every day for a year?

Well...your gf isn't a cake; don't take my analogy to the extreme.

Which occasion is the issue? His b-day, or Valintines Day?

I guy celebrating his b-day by going with his male buddies to a strip joint is perfectly fine.

But a guy taking his gf to a strip joint on Valentines Day (or on any occasion) doesnt make any kind of sense.

Wait, gfs aren't cake? I've been approaching this whole dating thing all wrong then!

Actually I was trying to make a joke, just parroting how d-bags justify cheating. That's not my MO.

So upon the lapdance stuff. As said, I have no probs with my partner visiting a real strip club, but thats simply about erotic dancing. Not about an prostitute advertising her backside with body contact. So no prob with real strip clubs, but if my partner visited one of that disguised bordells, he could stay there as well. ^^

Quote:
This weekend is Valentine's Day weekend and my boyfriend's birthday weekend. We had plans for me to take him out to the Ripley's Aquarium downtown and then go out for a nice dinner together. Now he's saying his friends are tagging along and we're staying at a hotel and we're going to a strip club. He's mentioned that he wants to do this on his birthday before but I thought it wasn't actually going to happen and now with the whole Valentine's Day thing I'm even more mad. I was so mad at him last night that I was almost ready to call it quits and then I said I was tired and I'd sleep on it. What do you think about this?

So, that would probably still be this guy right ?

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt236969.html

... if so, then it's no huge surprise if he's still being a selfish tit.
What did you really expect ?

If you take pole dancing classes, then he would probably be delighted and badger you to put on displays for him.
If you want to go to a male stripper club for your birthday, then go ahead.

(shrug) You could always try signing him up for Tool Academy....

I never went to a strip club in my life (SHOCKING NEWS!), what is it all about? Is it really that different than watching stripping on the screen?

I think it depends on the kind of etablissement. Around here its more like a show, so normally there are as well themes about it, as "Burlesque", "Carneval" or its a kind of comedy show included. Or more the acrobatic/sporty kind with real classy dancers. But as mentioned in this kind of etablissment its more like in a theatre, so tehre is a distance between the plattform and the audience and no interacting between each other, beside applausing. Like the similar mentioned Chippendales show, its simply about going there with friends, having some fun and cheer a bit, but its not about engaging with the dancers.

As far as I understood, the kind of stripclub that the threadstarter girlfriend seems to mean is more of that disguised bordell style, which I would not agree too as well. In the best way, the girls will be told to get you into buying them alcohol, so they normally try to get your interest, get into an conversation, act as if they were interested in you, and when they have cateched your focus, they will say, that they now "sadly" must go to work on, according to the club rules, because they are only allowed to interact with the guests, as long as they get payed drinks by them. So they "Really, really like you, but sadly must go now..." If you are drunken and/or stupid, that can easily cost you tons of money. In the worst way, they will try to get your focus to offer you "special services".

So no prob with the first mentioned kind of etablissment, but if my partner wanted to visit the second mentioned one, I´d be pissed too. ^^

Prostitution is legal here, so are as well that etablissements. Additional I live outside the capital city and nights are pretty cold or 9 months, so if you visit capital city for a concert/celebration, the normal bars and clubs close around 3:00-4:00 in the morning, and as long as you are still drunk you cant drive home with your car (And there are still police controls around that time). So its not that unusual for younger people to go into that kind of etablissment (that are the only ones, still open) in the early morning to consume a coffee and wait a bit until you can drive again/the police goes home in the morning. ^^ As well that I am an engineer, and while we have less probs with direct corruption (in the form of being presented with money) its still custom here to favor your businessfriends, by inviting them into restaurants/bars, ski weekend trips, .... So as a woman, owners of real bordells are not interested in you as a customer, but strip clubs have normally no probs with you visiting them as long as you are 18. Specially if you are in a group and have some single man as well with you, that they can try to catch them into buying their girls some drinks. As mentioned, there are strip club, that do hidden prostitution (I think out of tax reasons, or because the girls dont need to do all that medical testing or whatever....), but because of them at least being disguised as strip clubs, they have as well a normal bar area to sit and drink some coffee.

Yeah it's different. Do you know what a lap dance is? You sit back in a chair, kind of slumped back and the girl straddles you and rubs on you through her pants, with THAT part of her, while she's dancing and putting her boobs in your face. When it's done right it can cause a laundry problem, if you know what I mean.

 Can you just imagine if the genders were reversed ...

"You sit back in a chair, kind of slumped back and the guy (who is a total stranger) straddles you and rubs on you with his cock while wearing pants ; while he's dancing and putting his chest in your face."

;-) Do you think many women would go for that ?
Or would they just find it a bit uncomfortable and sleazy ?
