This is like saying all radical feminists are fat, hairy legged, lesbian, bitter manhaters. I mean... disproportionately...

Women police themselves more than any man in every culture. Do you know in countries that practice female circumcision it is usually the FEMALE relatives that administer it? The biggest sexists are other women, ones that can be probably described as the most socially successful.

Actually, research has shown repeatedly that men and women are about equal in our enforcement of prescriptive sexist stereotypes. Blaming one or the other group for the problem doesn't help us solve it.



We need a discourse that moves toward mutual solutions to discrimination and abuse, not toward more finger-pointing, stereotyping and disparaging remarks. This statement doesn't really contribute to that, in my opinion.

My sympathy does go out to people who lash out at a whole group (women) because they perceive themselves to be unfairly rejected by individual members of that group. This ideology is ultimately self-defeating, and alienates the people they most need to connect with... and that is tragic.

Why are people so shocked that women compete with members of their own sex just like men do with other men? These positive stereotypes about women need to be shoved into the dustbin of history. Women deserve no less respect than men as they are human beings too; but they do not deserve any admiration just for being female. That is, they are no more or less special than men. This seems to be such a contentious claim on my part and I'm honestly not sure why.

Considering all the dangerous presumptions we're airing here, I'm pleasantly surprised XFG didn't arrive here padlock in hand. Take for instance gamergate - I kind of knew of the usual boys club problems on MMO lobbies but I only really learned of it when it blew up in every media outlet ever. Obviously that was a problem with basement-dwelling nutcases who failed to remember what girls even look like. Angela Merkel just snubbed someone's car design study as 'boys stuff', meanwhile girls in Palestine are running their own race teams. All I ever saw gaming as before was a diversion from building serious technologies. As someone with more vested interest in tech than most Xbox owners, I'd probably be sleeping in a gutter if not for the contributions of female engineers, devs & hackers before me. I guess virtual sexists/misogynists just don't feel like building anything major.

Blaming women for internalised sexism makes as much sense as blaming kidnapping victims for developing Stockholm Syndrome. When there is a vastly imbalanced power dynamic, you can't really blame those with less power trying to work with the system being imposed on them the best they can in an attempt to survive having less power.

No group has power, individuals have power, we don't have a big patriarchy club meeting to discuss this months oppression. As mentioned, women compete with each other much the same as men if not mire so following the same logic of this thread then would it be wrong to link the radical man-hating feminists to unsuccessful undesirable bitter women? Internalized sexism is a funny term, that's like a feminist version of calling someone a Uncle Tom and makes about as much sense. I believe women have played a great deal in shaping our society and culture, I guess that makes me a misogynist shitlord.

If you're not willing to see that being male has had advantages because our culture for a long time was set up to not recognise women as people who should have the same rights as men and that still effects how men and women interact with each other to this day, then there is no point in trying to have a conversation with you. If you're not willing to acknowledge reality there is no hope for decent dialogue. You're not interested in understanding women's lives--you're interested in scoring points. It's very tiresome as a woman to have to try to reason with people who refuse to be reasonable because I don't have a penis. And you're all closed-minded to women in the same way, so women end up having the same conversations over and over again with guys that go nowhere because the guy they are talking to really doesn't care to try to understand where you are coming from because you are female and they can't deal with their own bias. So tiresome...and this is why we often give and up and just don't bother trying anymore with you guys. We are wasting words on you because you don't want to listen, and many of us are just not going to bother anymore.

You do not ever have "dialogue" with anyone, you do this almost every time somebody disagrees with you. You are a very poor debater and resort mostly to ad hominem retorts with the occasional link to a blog post, you've literally posted probably a hundred different iterations of this post. I don't know if you have a penis or not(your profile says you're male) but it doesn't change how I interact with you. Would you prefer kid gloves? I am glad you speak for every woman, you like to do this a lot. Why is wrong to hold someone accountable for how they interact with another person? I see women as fully sentient individuals responsible for their own words and actions, I guess I didn't know they were less than that. Critical theory is Marxist pseudoscience, no I won't agree with your argument before you make it.

Reading what Fnord posted about the game just reinforces (with me) how men begin to resent a woman who makes more and is more successful in their career than the man. I even find this to be true from being on Match.com. There are men on there actually seeking women who make their salary or below (the ones I saw want women who make $35,000 and less) and some even looking for women who have lesser degrees than themselves - I was shocked. But then I figure they are just being more out in the open with the fact that they would feel inferior to a woman who makes more or who has a higher degree. That's why I continue to try to find someone equal to myself.

Didn't you previously say that you would like someone who makes no less than you? Or would you rather date a man who is specifically looking for a woman who makes more than he does?

Yes, I did (and do) want a Hunny who makes the same - and I got a lot of backlash for it. Now I know from being on that dating website there are men just like me wanting a woman who is their equal. Actually, I want a guy who is my equal, but these men on the website are looking for women who are lower than them in salary or education.

Yeah, when she posts on a thread it's usually for the reason of locking it. She's a tough moderator.
In my teenage years I was a woman-hating, self-loathing bitter bigot due to my failure to get a girlfriend. Kind of like that guy darkphantomx1 who is still dwelling on it. Since then I matured and realized that the problem is on my side and I have no reason to be a hater, considering I am a genetically broken worthless piece of crap that no girl could possibly want. So I just accepted the truth and made pace with the fact that women will never want any business with me.

Like I said, if you can't understand how culture influences the behaviour of individuals and factor that in to how you understand people, there is no point trying to talk to you. Critical thinking about things you are biased about (women, and gender) is beyond you; however your bitterness is striking, and makes women (like myself--i can't change my profile since I signed up as male to avoid sexists like you) not want to try to talk with or reason with you. I'm sorry if it bothers you that women don't want to talk to you, but maybe you should put some time into thinking honestly about why that is. Bye!

If that's the case then these men are your equal. They want to make no less than you are.
