It is possible though. If someone explained to me logically why it is never repulsive to kiss, then I would accept that view. It's just unlikely.

That is debatable.
For something to be debatable, it should be possible for one side to change the opinion of the other. :?
That is possible.
Sorry... meant to say - it should be possible for EACH side to change the opinion of the other. What you would be doing is arguing. I know you dislike kissing because you think it's disgusting to exchange fluids. Hard to change that kind of opinion.

A debate is a sort of arguement. What you mean is it is subjective.

Alright, then I have a question: have you ever drank from the same straw or cup as someone else, ate from the same bowl, double dipped a potato chip in dip, or practiced communion in church? Fluid-exchange-wise, these are equivalent to kissing.

Yes?
Discuss.

I wouldn't do it, but I don't find it one bit repulsive. It is a sign of affection, at least between couples. I don't find it nasty at all. It makes me jealous though. Ban it? That would be stupid. Although kissing in intimate places is inappropriate in public.
Hugging? Absolutely fine.

Not without washing the glass first. (Apart from maybe when I was a kid)
It's not just about fluids though, I just think it looks disgusting seeing people kissing in public.

And I've never been to Church, religious stuff irritates me to.

It isn't fluid, it isn't jealousy, it is courtesy, or a lack thereof. Other people don't want to see it. Doing it in public gives the appearance of wanting others to know, well, great, others don't give a f**k.

It reeks of showing off, of flaunting something. That's irritating at the least.

What gets me is that a couple always appear to wait until I am there before they start doing anything. When i'm at home I can see my local bus stop from a distance of about 150 metres, and so often I will see a couple there, just sitting, contact free. But once I have arrived and sat down myself, they suddenly feel the need to start eating each others tongues.

It's not nice. :(

Exactly.
If I went somewhere where I would expect to see people kissing, then fair enough. But not in the middle of a shop or when I'm walking down the road.

I would share eating utensils/crockery only with my girlfriend/wife, so long as she is free from illness or anything that disgusts me- like having recently eaten green/red/yellow vegetables or fruit. I don't see why not.

However, sharing with anyone else would be out of the question.

I don't have a problem with kissing. What I have a problem is having it shoved in my face when I'm out. I wouldn't say is jealously more that I find it uncomfortable. There are people who just get way too carried away. I understand that people will want to kiss in public, but some people actively seek out very public places to make out. It gives them a kind of thrill. I don't have a problem with that either. I just want the choice not to be there. They should announce it.

Growing up, I saw my parents kiss each other a lot, and I saw them HAPPY when they did it (they argued a lot. They're divorced now). I associate kissing with a sharing of happy between two people. I like to be happy, and I like to see people happy, so I like seeing people kiss. When I go to weddings, I'm one of those people that will do the glass clinking a lot just to see the new bride and groom kiss.

I'm not self-absorbed enough to dislike seeing other people happy.

And I'm not so full of myself that I assume to know the precise reasoning behind other people's actions / thoughts, but that is neither here nor there.

I don't think anyone here is saying that kissing is wrong, rather that it can be done at appropriate times. It is like hearing people go on and on about how much they like some other person. Great, that's nice, nobody's against that, not everyone wants to hear about it constantly. It isn't an issue of disliking others being happy, but feel free to continue insulting others with your assumptions.

I said it to elicit a response. That and I wasn't really talking about anyone other than myself. It was more of a poke at me, and how I usually come across as self-absorbed.
