The OP is of course basically right, though I don't agree with everything he said.

The problem with Asperger's people, I guess, is the inability to see that because one feels something, one needn't express it. Some feelings (including neediness) are better kept to oneself.

Basically you're suggesting that we should ignore any & all feelings if someone else may disagree with them. I think it's better to be upfront about everything & worry about petty disagreements later.

Most of us have already tried being total doormats. It doesn't work.

Since this post is negative and borderline sexist, I'm closing it. Before anyone accuses me of bias, I've been bogged down recently with school and work.
