Like a commoner free of all of the constraints of royal bondage.

Serious question: Do they ever accept Jews into the royal family btw?

I vaguely remember hearing a story many years ago. It was about an ordinary peasant girl in Brazil who met a very handsome man and they immediately fell in love. Then one day as these stories unfold, the man asked the girl for her hand in marriage. He said "I must admit that I haven't told you everything about me." He said "I am from Bavaria and I am a prince and I live in a castle with over a hundred rooms. I was looking for true love for someone who would appreciate me for who I am and not for my wealth and title." The girl immediately and flatly turned down his proposal. He left broken-hearted and returned back to his home country a few days later.

Days later her friends wanted to know how her romance was progressing. She told them that he had proposed and she turned him down. She said that he was nobility and lived in a large castle overlooking the bend of a beautiful river, a very beautiful place. She showed them the photograph of his castle that he had given her. She said "The audacity of the man! How could I every clean so many rooms. He said there were over 100. That is just too many rooms for me to clean. I will work myself to death, so I turned him down."

Well...

For the first thousand years of European civilization royals could only marry other royals in Europe. Since the ruling royal class in Christian Europe is of the gentile majority by default that meant no Jews. No commoners could marry royals. The Jewish minority was always part of the common class. So they didn't even hafta make rules about Jews specifically.

This Royals only marrying Royals rule is only now, as we speak, falling apart and yielding to modernity.

Princess Kate was the first commoner to marry into the British Royal without her husband having to abdicate. Then Princess Meg (who is not even lily White) married into the Royal Family.

So only now, as we speak, is it even theoretically possible for a Jew to enter the Royal family. So you will hafta keep posted about further developments about that.

I would be surprised if they didn't these days. Catholics might still be prohibited though.

I am related to Harry in much the same ancestral ways as Meghan Markle (oh, bother; two people find out that they are cousins and they still marry?!?). The Euro royals are all my cousins. Does that make me a mini-God? Hehe.

I wonder where I rank on the U.K. succession to the throne? Mmm. Probably back row of a car park on the Isle of Man. Hello? Hellooo?!? I am your autistic cousin from Utah! Hello?

As you're related you have more chance of marrying into the family than Chronos

[Shudders]!

If they were concerned about looks they would have disowned Prince Charles by now.

Anyway, why would anyone want to marry a royal? You'd have to live by many strict rules and devote all your time to being a socialite. They'd tell your kids who you're allowed to marry (and you must have kids, going childless isn't an option).

Do you really enjoy going to parties with hundreds of people you don't know? Do you want to wear uncomfortably tight dresses and high heels every night? Do you want to be legally obligated to curtsy everytime you see your mother-in-law? Do you want to marry a man who is the product of centuries of inbreeding?

The perfect life of a princess is just a fairytale. If Princess Beatrice or Eugenie proposed to me, I'd turn them down.

Royals can be ugly, but they won't allow a non-royal ugly in, a non-royal woman should be gorgeous to even have a chance to be accepted into the family.

Not necessarily. Just look at who the Queen let Prince Andrew marry.

Checked her pics when she was young, she's not ugly.

But not gorgeous either.

Well, Chronos may still have a chance after all.

This conversation always remind me of the ruling prince of Qatar and his way-more-beautiful-than-him wife.
