I think it is because I had an abusive father that I get addicted to men who treat me badly. I am having therapy for CPTSD but I fear I am a hopeless case. I feel so STUPID .

I'm so happy that my father is a generally good man
It's much more complicated with my mother but it seems we're finally finding ways to accept each other.
CPTSD is tricky but I'm optimistic about you  You can do it!

But first of all - Love Yourself

I'm glad you have faith in me, not so sure myself. I believe in not giving up and I trust my therapist. I think finishing with my toxic ex is a step forward, I hope so. Yes, recovering from bad parenting is a lifelong job. I'm so happy for you that you love your dad and have a good relationship with him Magz. You are a courageous woman, I follow your posts. It's really all about trying to do our best with what life gives us.

I am so sorry that things didn't work out Teach51. Is aweful when such nice people get horrible addictions and won't get help.

Yes MG we really can't fix anyone else, we can just love them and let go if necessary.
