There is the option of a man/woman going to a sex parlour.
Many married/partnered men do go there, for various reason.
I gather some "Wives" aren't too fussed about that either, as long as the man takes out the garbage and doesn't bring back any nasty surprises.

The understanding that each enjoys and desires sex with the other should have been a basis for the relationship to begin with. I honestly think one partner should make an honest effort to accommodate the other's physical urges even when they aren't necessarily in the mood to begin with. I think if you can't get yourself into the mood enough to at least satisfy your partners' urges at the time (something over which most of us have little control anyway) then there's something wrong with the relationship and you need to address that or else consider ending the relationship.

I do agree if one partner is actually "demanding" sex then something is seriously wrong but the reason for that needs to be addressed. It's a symptom not the disease.

The whole thing becomes disgusting once sex becomes a currency.

Eh no. You can control yourself. (I mean not when the urge hits but what you do about it).

The urge will pass.

What do you think single people do?

Eat Pizza?

I don’t need sex. I have (safe) ways of satisfying myself.

I would have respected my lover’s desire for virginity had she wanted that.

I’m not pushy. Ironically, I’ve had women tell me I’m not pushy enough.

Lol. I'd guess couples whom are poly don't mind it but the monogamous types, nah! if people just want hook ups, just stay single then have a partner or a spouse. Theirs always there hands lol

Nobody EVER assumed I was gay.

Only my dad, once....because I was having trouble getting a girlfriend when I was 19. Then I got the girlfriend.

I know women who have sex every night in order to stop their husbands philandering. I don't think it does. I have never been able to do that nor do I think anyone should ignore their own feelings and force themselves to have sex. If the man looks elsewhere it's not the womans' fault.
I don't think men are naturally monogomous and if they would be open about having sex with other people then the term 'cheating' wouldn't exist.

Isn't not wanting to have sex right then a good reason though? I wouldn't want to make my partner have sex with me when they really didn't want to have it, that seems to fall more into just using someone for pleasure than actually participating in the act with them.

Also, if your partner not being in the mood once in awhile makes you consider leaving them that's quite weird. Humans have hands for a reason. Even people in relationships should be able to satisfy themselves once in awhile, people who aren't in relationships do it all the time and live through it.

@HeroOfHyrule I think if your relationship is any good you will have a good idea of when would be a bad time.

My thoughts had mostly to do with somebody withholding sex simply because they can. It's based on personal experience. I don't recall ever having pestered anybody to have sex with me at a time that would be intrinsically unpleasant or annoying. I am not advocating that anybody treat their partner's body as a plaything over which the partner has no control. I guess I keep forgetting there are people like that, but then why does anybody stay with them?

Ah, thank you for clarifying that. It sounded somewhat like the latter to me.

I also don't know why people stay with others who are like that, but there's the chance they're not treated well in other aspects of their relationship and might just overall be used to it? That happens sometimes.

I may have not expressed my original thought as clearly as I meant to. My basic premise is that sex should be mutually enjoyable. In a situation where it's not, in my case I don't think I could enjoy it if the other person isn't enjoying it, then of course you're not going to do it, in fact you aren't going to want to do it. But I guess that isn't a basic assumption which is why you have abusive relationships (at least in the sexual sense as of course not all abuse is sexual).

Nevertheless I did once have a partner who was very demanding and there were indeed times when I was having sex with her that I could honestly say I wasn't enjoying myself the whole time. But I always at least cooperated.

There is an expectation that men automatically want sex all the time, and that's somehow separate from everything else in the world. Women meanwhile are either categorized as "prudish" or "slu*ty" so no wins either way for them, if anyone is looking for an excuse to criticize. Indeed I can't actually think of an equally convenient term for "sexually active but to a normal degree", so that either says something about societal norms in general or my brain in particular.

Personally I don't believe all the stuff about men always filling the "hunter gatherer" role when it comes to partners as well as food. Plenty of women out there who know what they want and will engineer it, the only difference is the degree of subtlety involved.

I also think the alleged separation of sex and emotions with men is a complete lie. I definitely stop feeling attracted to people I am disappointed in, upset by, or can't trust. That can be a problem as those conclusions are very easily reached in error if you're on the spectrum.

If somebody is “not in the mood,” that somebody shouldn’t be forced to make love.

Sometimes, I get a headache. That makes be disinclined towards sex.

There is no requirement before marriage imho any guy that has the requirement is likely a user that being said neglecting your husband after marriage and expecting him to remain exclusive to you is wrong and eventually leads to women getting cheated on.

I personally wouldn't cheat I would just move on to a better women.

No one is ever "required" to provide sex.
