Anyone have a *good* valentine's day?

I hate VDay. I can't even have a boyfriend in real life, so I hate VDay a lot.

Valentine's Day is overrated.

If on Valentines, if you can't share love with a partner cos you don't have one, why not share love with friends or family?

There's more than one type of love y'know.

My valentines was great. After debating whether I was going to go to my bf's work or not and deliver his presents in person, Mum called and told me to do it. So I did. He LOVED it. And I met one of his workmates, who thought I didn't exist. LOL

Then when I got to work, 12 roses were there for me. He'd sent them to work for me and I was all happy!

I wished everyone at work a happy valentines (cos deep down I love them all), and I successfully drove an electric forklift by myself.

To be list making about it...

Pros:
-I got to talk to the person I love, which is always a good thing...
-I got my SAT scores in (really good in reading, good in writing, eek worthy (to me) in math), which made me pretty happy. All of the colleges I'm interested in take those scores, and I'm higher in some.
-Two people gave me Valentines cards (which was surprising), and another intended to.
-The Spanish test was easier than I thought (although I may not have done as well as I thought) it would be.
-Senora didn't have a heart attack ("you're too quiet!").
-It's a 4 day weekend now.
-I ordered the traditional birthday cake, plus sprinkles (yay for sprinkles; and icing too).
-I got a sheep (not for the day or anything, just because my mother saw him and knows that I like sheep) (not a real sheep, a stuffed animal one; he's adorable).
-I get to talk to the person I love again, which is always a good thing.

Cons:
-No one understood my (forced to be given; I don't volunteer) metaphor, so I had to explain it (and still no one got it).
-The card that someone got me ended up not being delivered; it didn't bother me (I hadn't expected one anyway), but it really made her upset, and I couldn't get across that it was ok with me.
-Naturally, I didn't get anything for the people who gave me cards (which I should have planned for, now that I think about it, because they gave me Christmas cards), which I felt bad about.
-The "master carpenter" that is my group project member is taking home our project to work on over the weekend, despite being told that we all ready met the requirements for the next check and the fact that I said no, we shouldn't. (She's not a master carpenter; she just thinks she is.)
-I thought for a moment that I had given the Spanish teacher a heart attack; I guess she didn't hear me (I said Senora), and when she looked up, she jumped, gasped, and put her hand to her heart immediately.

And the Heather doesn't know where to put it list:
-People were being unusually nice.

So, overall, the pros outweigh the cons; it's a fairly good day.

My ex-husband called...he wished me a Happy Valentine's Day.

..and then my son came home on a sugar-high from the party at school today.

I ask you...does it get much better than this?

XD well, it's nice to see I made someone happy.

Anyway, it was a good point. I was tired of seeing people whine, when there's more than romantic love to celebrate about.

Except that valentines day is primarily about romantic love. There are other days for other loves... Mothers day and Fathers day, thanksgiving, etc., for familial love (heck, any day that a family uses as an excuse to have dinner)... Love of a religious deity is often celebrated on whatever religious holidays that religion has...

I had a good valentines day because school went well, then I had a good time at the gym, came home and relaxed. Do what makes you happy and good people will come into your life.
