No idea. Not only is there a lot of evidence that sex means something very different to women, and not only does society clearly expect it, but also, to know what it feels like, I'd have to be discarded after having sex, not before. I can't help thinking it'd be wonderful compared with my real situation.



More likely, those who consider them girlfriend material aren't considered boyfriend material by them.

Well, the US is the land of liberty. In other so-called developed countries, people are used to tyrannical governments which not only steal their money, but also shove science down their throats, forbid them to indoctrinate their children the way they see fit, help children move away from their parents and enjoy more personal freedom than they've earned, prevent people who don't pull their weight from just starving to death or dying when they can't afford health care, and do many more heinous things. Liberty means the government has no business stepping into your life and telling you what to do with it, so, as long as your children are financially dependent on you, you can do to them whatever you choose to, including mutilation.

As someone (Orwell?) pointed out, governments steal children from their parents.



The first time I read how female genital mutilation is performed, I almost fainted. I think there's a difference, because foreskin isn't as delicate as organs made of something more than skin, and the boys aren't deprived of the glans, which would condemn them to a life without any kind of sexual release. However, just because the female variant is worse is no excuse to defend circumcision.

You know what? I was going to stay out of this discussion because I believe circumcision should not be done. However, if you think that female mutilation is anywhere near the same - you're wrong. They actually slice off the clitoris and sew up the vagina so a woman can barely have a period. I just remembered we had a patient that had to have Foley catheter placed and no nurse knew how to insert it because the woman had been mutilated and the anatomy was totally something like we had never seen. A doctor had to actually come in to insert the catheter into the urethra.

So don't tell me that circumcision is far worse. In order for it to be even on the same caliber the ENTIRE penis would have to be sliced off. Female mutilation is done so the woman gets no pleasure from sex for the rest of her life . Get your penis whacked off then we can talk. Otherwise quit your bitching. Bunch of freaking pansies. You have a problem with what was done to you, then I suggest you go talk to your Mommy and Daddy because they are the ones that did it to you - not us.

It wasn't about having fun and being witty this time. The comic was a reference to how others and I were being accused of not interpreting correctly posts which kept putting us down with no explanation. I was upset about that; however, since I won't get any kind of satisfaction, but probably only more offhand insults, I let the matter rest. I've already elaborated on that and spent much more time doing it than I'd like to. I'd appreciate it if others would let it rest, too. I'm afraid only a moderator will remove anything from my posts. Besides, even if I wanted to edit them, it's too late.

Talk about reading-comprehension problems.... You have a habit of focusing only on the one who is replying to something which was someone else's initiative, and then putting in their mouth whatever makes them look bad, without any regard for what they actually said or its context. Noöne here has claimed a single time circumcision is worse than female genital mutilation. We all agree the latter is horrible. However, just because it's horrible doesn't mean the former isn't bad, too. You seem to have a problem with this last part.

I don't. I find it rather unfunny and stupid, but not disturbing enough to be removed.

But MGM is way more common accepted and being done on MASSES of babies, the tragedy is in the numbers - and the lack of will from authorities to do anything to stop it, parents must not have a word in this at all.

I am also against holing female toddlers' ears for earrings, parents must not be allowed to do this at all.



That language only indicates that you are somehow....indifferent about MGM, or probably you think it's silly.
Your attitude implies "Why you are so angry about male circ? It is no-issue, FGM is way worse".

Honestly? After reading this, I don't believe you are against male circ.

in the custody case in the news, the mother is against circumcision and the father is for. you are way overgeneralizing. my father wasn't circumcised and it never bothered my mom. do you hate these women?

at any rate, i don't understand how you get so upset about this to the point where you actually hate people. i told my husband he is less sensitive because of his circumcision. he said he wished he got the chance to experience life without circumcision, then promptly went on to think about other things and enjoy sex as he experiences it now.

For the record:

I didn't have my sons circumcised.

I don't like it.

I really, really hate working across the hall from the room where the pediatricians routinely do between one and four circumcisions before lunch Monday through Friday and listening to the baby boys scream.

But I don't see the point of claiming that this thing that happens to some males, one time, for most males before they are old enough to form a memory of it - - is a blanket argument claiming "men have it worse" than women.

Please.

Maybe you can argue that Jewish/Protestant baby boys have it worse than baby girls who aren't subjected to FGM.

But it doesn't even relate to the point of the thread, which is that being a girl sucks in ways guys can't comprehend. I doubt you remember your circ. I remember my last bad period, I remember last time I was scared by a creepy dude who seemed to be stalking me and/or sizing me up, and I remember the last time sex went a little. . . unpleasant because someone was thinking about getting his rocks off whether it was painful or pleasurable for me.

I know men have issues that women know nothing about, too.

But to say it's worse to be a guy because it's hard to get dates - - I disagree. You can always try another lady. You can't shake off the feeling that the guy you just said "no thanks" to might be a serial rapist, even if it is paranoia rather than a real danger!

What we actually argue doesn't seem to matter much, considering we keep getting things put in our mouths we never said. Noöne has yet said circumcision is worse than female genital mutilation, though there certainly seems to be a non-negligible amount of female posters who want us to have said it so they can hold it against us.

women are far less likely than men are to being a late bloomer, to being a 25+ year old virgin, never having a relationship before.

the OP said her topic was tongue in cheek. she doesn't really think girls have it worse. my own opinion is that there is so much individual variation that while girl x may have it worse than guy y, guy z will have it worse than girl a. life is not a contest. our job is to so the best we can with the situation we are in to make ourselves and others happy.

It's all a matter of perspective. Men look at life thinking "must have sex" even if it's on a subconscious level. And get frustrated when they are rejected. Therefore, they may assume that a woman has it easier because all she has to do is make herself available. But completely ignoring the fact that women don't tend to be wired up in quite so simple terms, having to deal with consequences that men don't.

We're not wired up in quite so simple terms, either, and we do have to deal with those consequences, too. It's not like you can just go around impregnating women and forgetting about them.

I think life is indeed a contest, and the earlier you learn it is, the better.
