yeah basically.

And then they get low and decide they want to cleanup and come wining to you for help.. so you help them.. and then they invariably fall off the wagon again and blame you for being "Negative" in regards to their needs. when all you're trying to do is help them do what they said they wanted to do int he first place.

And in any area with few jobs or only bad paying menial jobs.. you get loads of people like this.. who complain about being broke all the time but can spend 20$ on two lortabs to get high for a few hours..

I'm working on it.. but part of the reason it's so depressing is that it's a "depressed" area. where there aren't any good paying or even decent paying jobs. Most of them leave you at the level of "working poor".. so you have just enough to make ends meet and nothing left to save to move with. If you commute to a better job, they are all at least 30 miles away.. and then you spend all your extra money on commuting and car repairs.

Hooray for student loans is all I'm gonna say..

^^^Sounds like here, they call it a "bedroom" county because you have to drive so far to work ,no jobs here. But it's beautiful so that makes up for lots and good old timers.

Another option: do as the Romans do.

I'm not disputing that there are meth heads in small towns, and every kind of town/city.(especially in the South) My city is rife with drug use in some areas. Well, drug use is everywhere, but meth/crack etc. is very obvious once you know what it looks like. A lot of pharmaceuticals that are legally prescribed are pretty obvious here too, lots of people here are clearly on a lot of opiates or benzos. There are a lot of people throughout America whose drug use is visible.

My initial comment was about the statement that all women were trading sex for guys buying them drinks. Before they all became meth heads, or single moms, or fat and ugly. I just don't buy that the failure is all on the shoulders of the female population of whatever town this is. Especially coming from a guy who first claims to be a really good guy, then says all women in his area are all of these things etc. etc. and further, admits he wouldn't say these things in real life.

and I never said it was all there fault. The guys are just as guilty.

The women get addicted to drugs, and will happily suck cock for those drugs.. or more.

Will happily lie to your face and tell you they love you so you will buy them gallons of cheap vodka.

Will happily steal your possessions and pawn them so they can go back to the guys who take advantage of them and buy more pills until the money is all gone and then.. have no choice but to pay with sexual favors.

I don't say stuff like this to them in real life because I don't TALK to people like this in real life. These people are dangerous and desperate and frequently violent when you call their paradigm into question. I don't want to get beaten up or stabbed or shot because I make some tweaker mad.

You seem to not want to accept the fact that in so far as my area, my town, I know a hell of a lot more about it than you do. I'm sure there are women in my town, in my age group, who aren't into this stuff.. but they aren't in my socio-economic bracket. They aren't the low income people who I interact with.

So what, I generalized, people do that all the time. Only on this forum does it seem to be an issue.

Those towns are hell. It's not in your best interest to even think about ANYONE there as a serious long term mate. Not because 100% of them are bad, but because if you settle down with someone there, you are settling down THERE. It's possible you could convince them to move, but you might run into the "Oh, but my family is here!" argument and then everything gets more complicated. It's too risky.

Focus on leaving. Nothing else. Whatever it takes.

Yeah that's basically what happened with my ex.

At first, it was "well we are gonna move as soon as I finish school and you finish school" .. then she lost financial aid and couldn't go back to school.. so then it was "Okay when I finish school" then it was "Oh well let's move here, I have family here" even though I knew she had moved here specifically to get away from the other non family people there. So I said no. Then it was "Well we can't move too far away then cause my family is here" and then it was an endless streem until she was asking me to quit school and move in with her and her parents and then once I outright refused to that is when she got back on drugs.. the more times I refused to allow myself to be pulled down to the same misery she was in.. the more she started to resent me and look for a way to hurt me. Eventually she fell back to the only thing she knew.. hurting herself to hurt people who cared about her. The problem is she wasn't expecting me to take the nuclear option and cut her out of my life entirely.

But she's not the only one who's done this sort of thing to me.. and right now the only goal is to get out of this place.

It's male and female here, the men steal and the women trade sex favors and steal for a bump.Watch Winter's Bone.Filmed in this area. No,it's not a good idea to talk to these people or even be in the same vicinity. Most murders here go unsolved, lots of missing people. You don't even look someone who is jeetered out in the eye.My ex was severly beaten by a tweaker because he asked the wrong question.

That's what I did. I was in a s**t hole town too, moved to the "university town" and haven't looked back. Of course there are still a lot of messed up people, they're everywhere. Lots of girls are just drunken party animals, but at least they're not all coke heads.

Also, I think it's hilarious that the people arguing with meems keep referring to her as a guy, and no one has said anything

I know Meems is female, but she used "Dude" on me first so I was being snarky and using it back on her..

You know the problem with moving elsewhere? Chances are the problem is you, not the place. Though on occasion the place can be a problem

see if you applied that same sentence anthropologically to a group of people, you'd be accused of being a racist. So why is it okay to apply it to an individual?

Because its being used to an individual due to the specifics we know, and not making generalizations and such
