I’m a data-entry clerk and circulation clerk at a library.

How much money do you make?

You should consider the country’s GDP you’re working in.

I have an 2250$ monthly income from one project; and $1250+ from a couple of smaller projects.
Sounds like yours; except I don’t have the luxury of a summer vacation.

Luxury?

I’m burned-out and need a break. Also, I spend a lot of money on supplies for my classroom, so my income is even less than it seems.

I don’t really get the entire summer off. I have some classes and preparation for next year to do.

Can you treat blobby hemorrhoids?

Nope. I never said that either. I don't even know what a surgeon earns.

At my high-point I earned six figures, but I was also a single mother and a homeowner without child support. My salary was equal to what a double-income family might earn, but I had to pay all the bills myself and maintain a stressful career so I wouldn't lose custody or be investigated by child welfare services.

I had to provide family court with evidence of a stable home, an excellent credit rating, and full-time employment including children's medical benefits and a pension. Single parents are faced with this scrutiny all the time.

It's weird but I can't imagine anyone batting an eyelash if a single father made six figures. When a single mother earns it, people wonder whether she's sincere or else they think she's milking the system.

When he first started attempting to sue me I was on maternity leave making $17,000 / year.
Clearly I wasn't rich because his motivation was power, rather than money.

You still haven’t stated your professsion.

Maybe because...

^ Ah; **cough* … got it.

No wonder why it’s so lucrative.

No, I haven't.
I could be identified fairly easily by my profession so I don't talk about it.
I don't want to jeopardise my cyber-safety or that of my daughter.

She doesn’t have to, either.

Sometimes, people are reluctant for good reasons.

I've heard some people are allowed to go to the bathroom whenever they want, when they're at work.
What a luxury! 8O
I can't imagine calling a teacher's life luxurious by any measure.

There’s nothing like those times when I’m really desperate for a bathroom break while I’m in the middle of a class.

Teachers here can be sued by parents for up to seven years after teaching them.
If they go on field trips they aren't even covered by school insurance, because they're off property.

Talk about a dream job!!

Teacher is a hard job. They are responsible for so much and are often maligned by parents and bosses. It can be very cut-throat in the wrong schools.

It doesn’t suck, but it’s not a luxury, either. It’s rewarding and challenging.

This is one of the reasons why I’m not planning on doing it forever. I need something that’s less demanding because my health will not last with this stress indefinitely.
