so everything in the world must be stopped because it matters/bother someone? People are offended by anything and everything. sports, Canada, fast food, smoking, French art, loud music, non-coed dorms, coed dorms, clowns, the color yellow, and on and on and on.

You change what you can and at some point the person who is offended can just not participate in the activity they do not like.

When it comes down to it, it sounds like we were just asking for a larger, more definitive photo of her. She asked why she wasn't mentioned, and that is the answer that was given. I don't want to look like a 'bad guy" I just want to state what I saw. She is beautiful, but we just wanted to see more. Is that so wrong to ask? I think that this whole thing is a misunderstanding. :chin:

Once my girlfriend showed me photos of her having sex with two guys. She was really proud of them. I thought they looked disgusting but I guess it's true - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

my only point is I suspected such things to eventually crop up. Just levying my opinion. Take for it what you will, as I said I see inherent problems with threads like this, but you may do as you wish

Everyone expects issues like that to crop up because you can guarantee that everything is offensive to someone. I think it follows the same law as fetishes. If you can think of it, someone is offended by it.

I say, it is all in fun, and those who participate are to be commended for having self-confidence. It might be tough for those who do not feel confident enough to get involved, but why bash those who do? It is not an actual competition and should be looked at as an achievement for those who participated, and feel good about themselves. Maybe a goal for those who are not ready to put themselves out there yet? This is for fun people, nothing more. If you don't feel comfortable participating, then don't, simple as that. :)

Very logical and that's how I saw this post so I couldn't agree with you more.

It's just that's not everyone's perspectives about themselves and other people are ever really going to be ready or on the same page. It's very common for people to misread into things or not look at things in the same perspective. Not everyone sees or gets what the other is really saying sometimes.... I saw a few members pic here and thought them pretty but I didn't comment. I took this thread all in fun and nothing serious just as the guys thread. In fact I think it's great that many members here and in the other thread had some fun without turning it into a real competition.

I don't understand why starvingartist is complaining that no one mentioned her. Did she even post a picture of herself besides her avatar? It seems sort of self-centered to be complaining that no one mentioned her and just stirring up drama over nothing.

I am not bashing those that do it, I just think these threads would lead to more pain then fun.

A person gets up the confidence to post a pic. Their pic is then completely ignored. Something most of us have had to deal with in real life. Thus in their eyes their attempt at taking a chance had failed and most likely resulted in that self-esteem being crushed.

I sort of agree. IMO the only way to make this thread neutral is to stop people from making comparative comments. saying that someone is more attractive than "most of the females on the thread" (sorry can't remember who wrote that) is going to make half the females who posted think "did he/she mean me?" etc

there was a couple of males who actually spelled it out clearly "I think X is more attractive than Y".

this is seriously rude and can be crushing to someone's self-esteem.

on the other hand, I don't see being ignored as such a bad thing, and IIRC starvingartist you got a lot of compliments about your avatar picture on one of the threads you started on GDF. whatever.

I'm so happy I didn't post my pics on this thread... :p

Quote them, I recall no such post posted by a male here. I recall no one said :'X is more attractive than Y' or anything like that.
