8)

To not have a men's discussion forum like there is a women's forum doesn't make sense. I think a lot of stuff that spills into forums like L&D might not if there was a more appropriate place to express it.

i'm pretty sure there was actually a men's discussion forum at one point, and my understanding is that is was shut down because it became a cesspool of misogyny. i could be wrong as i wasn't an active poster whenever this took place, so to be sure you would need to ask probably one of the mods or someone who's been active here for longer and remembers when this occurred. i'm pretty sure that it happened though, and that it has been discussed before.

maybe it would be better if there was a quarantined area where men could vent, and that women have their own quarantined area for such, as well. by quarantined it is meant to keep the youngsters out as well as to be understood that it is for specified gender only to post. just a thought.

not sure if creating "safe" spaces where misogyny/misandry can respectively fester is a wise idea. the women's discussion has remained open as far as i can tell because it actually contains discussions about women's issues and is not a festering cesspool of misandry, or i imagine it would have received the same treatment as the men's discussion forum did.

you're right in that it is hard to maintain the balance between "safety valve" and cesspool in danger of widespread contagion of WP.

Hi. My name is Samuel Latter. I'm new to this website. I don't know the way it works here, but I was hoping to meet someone. As you may have guessed, I have Asperger's syndrome and I live in Kent. That's in England. I can't reveal whereabouts yet.

You see, I'm looking for a particular kind of girl. I have had bullying and mild abuse issues at school as a boy. I'm looking for a girl that has similar experiences to me, similar problems. I might be jealous of girls if they haven't suffered that at all. Imagine what it's like when only you have suffered and no one else has. You feel left out, jealous, maybe even envious.

It may have to be an Asperger's girl. My guess is some of them get badly treated at school like I was sometimes. It wasn't entirely that bad, but I've had issues with those experiences. Those experiences, the way I see it, can affect the way you think. I want a girl who thinks and lives like me. I like foreign history, like ancient India, ancient China and ancient Egypt.

However, what I'm really into is technology and the future. I love technology. I love to design incredible machines. I like to draw pictures of beautiful girls and characters, but I can't draw machines, not perfectly with detail. I like to write stories, though. I'm hoping to make my stories into movies one day. I'm a dreamer. That's what I am. I make up characters in my head and write about them. Thank you for reading. And please give me your feedback.
