I think dating is essential in getting to know if you even like him/her, which let's you know if you two are compatible. On the other hand, marriage, to me, is pointless. Two people need not tie a knot to stay faithful. Marriage, by definition, is the state of being united to a person of the opposite or same sex in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law. Nevertheless, this concept cannot magically keep love and sex between the couple, can it? Many relationships, marriage or not, have and will faulter. And remember, lots of money will be lost trying to break a marriage and rip the license in half. Then there's custody of the children. And the court decides your parental fate. In my view, marriage should not exist. It should be up to the couples to decide their own futures. Work out your issues or he can pack his bags and they work out their own custody arrangement.
