I hate to pee in the soup, but there's another problem all these ferriners and easterners didn't notice; there ain't nothing within fifty miles of Boise. Well, I wouldn't say nothing, there's mountains, and desert, and farms, and desert mountains, and farms in the desert...

People been talking about you relaxing your criteria a little. If you relax them enough, there's a town called Fruitland about sixty miles to the northwest. I never been there.

Maybe it's just me, but have you ever been around a woman who was technically beautiful, but shallow, boring, and annoying. It's amazing, you can actually sit there and watch them get less and less attractive while you listen to them. Then again, you ever been around somebody who was interesting, somebody with a deep heart who comes up with surprises, somebody you like? It's really fun looking at them.

Of course, if you're listening to my advice about romantic relationships, you're too dumb to be wasting your money going to school anyway.

It boggles my mind as to why someone would choose to live in a place with so few social and cultural opportunities as Idaho.

To each their own, I guess... and I don't at all mean to sound condescending or elitist.

But I just couldn't fathom making such a move. Las Vegas is Philistinish enough for me. It makes L.A. look like the Left Bank.

If I had a magic wand, I would move to San Francisco and stay there for the rest of my life.

Well, unless I quit academia (I'm at its entry levels now), my only chances of that are getting a job at one of the several universities and colleges there. UC San Francisco is out because with the field I'm in, my areas of specialization do not at all whatsoever jive with the department there.

I tend to agree... I live a half hour south of San Francisco and think it's a great place with lots of good people to meet. I have always had a feeling that because it's so hard for me to connect with people, that I need to be in a place that has lots of good people to connect with.

Recently discovering that I have AS has reinforced this for me... for a while I was thinking of moving somewhere cheaper (and more isolated) than San Francisco, but now that I understand how AS impacts my life, I think that would not be healthy for me.

Of course just being around lots of good people doesn't make it easy to connect. In the San Francisco people tend to be pretty sophisticated and looking for other sophisticated people, and my unsophisticated social image makes it difficult to connect. But at least there are always other people to try to connect with.

BTW, any Aspies in the SF area I'm very interested what you have found in terms of Aspie resources here...

Let's see, maybe countless square miles of mountain wilderness so rugged that Lewis and Clark took a look at it and headed in the other direction. Not social I guess, but it's a culture with a five billion year history. Little bit of context for a human life maybe.

Q: What's the difference between yogurt and California?
A: Yogurt has a culture.

And the line from a Woody Allen movie: "Why would you want to live in a place whose only contribution to western civilization was the right turn on red?"

You know those yuppie water bottles that say "mountain spring" on the label. It's a whole lot better when you lay down on the cool rocks and stick your face in the source.

I agree with everyone else here. Relax your requirements just a tad. When it comes to women you need to have an open mind :) And I mean really open, cause "them wimmins gonna confuse ya boy" ;) In all serriousness though, there are plenty of wonderful ones out there! Keep up the search :)

Actually, I was talking about the town of Fruitland, Idaho, not San Francisco.

I would live in San Francisco (or Seattle for that matter) if I could afford it.

Boise is very rapidly growing because of Micron Technology, plus Microsoft and Sybase have major offices there. Plus Boise State University is home of the world-famous blue football field.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but if you're that picky with it you're never going to get anyone. Then you come here and complain because no Pamela Andersons take your fancy.

I know Hale Bopp's post was ages ago its just so funny.
Anyway,
Tim I am sure there is a lovely woman for you out there. Slender ample bosoms, does she have to be Aspie I mean if she has the similar interests it should be fine. What about facial characteristics?

Yes, she has to be an Aspie. I had a very bad experience with an NT woman in the past. She left me because she found a guy who had a nicer car. An Aspie would never do that to me. The problem is that there are no Aspie women in Boise, or who are willing to do a long-distance relationship. There are only two Aspie women who meet all my criteria--one is not willing to do a long-distance relationship (obviously, she does not live in Boise), and the one who is willing to do a long-distance relationship is under 18, and it is illegal to date people under 18 in the U.S.

I let my search for an Aspie woman control where I go to school. I have already been cheated out of Hawaii, and I might be cheated out of Boise as well.

I've had bad experiences with a few NT women, and a few wonderful ones.

The truth is the communication gap can be breached, but only if both sides are interested and loyal enough..

I don't think limiting yourself to aspie only is such a good idea... (if I did that in Perth I would cut the number of people I could meet down to about 5)

Despite what you may have heard, NT women aren't evil, the misunderstanding is the problem, not the women.

However, certain ones are surely to be watched out for, I guess the lesson is be careful who you're trusting.

why (if I may ask) are you limiting yourself to aspies?

and the whole skinny with a big rack, already has you on my male pig list.

Guys. sheesh. it's no wonder women are getting more interested in women, it's because 90% of all horny male chauvanist pigs give the rest of us good 10% guys a bad name.

what do I look for in a woman?
1) I don't go for looks, those don't matter. I go for personality and how she treats others.
2) age doesn't matter to me, I dated a 27 year old, who happened to be an Aspie, she's a freshman at the same college as me, I'm 19.
3) views on sex.....right there is a mega o mega probem you gonna be facing a long time of celibate live monseur. my views on sex are waiting at least til marriage, if the girl I am with, does want to have sex, then I'll gladly oblige.

I did a search of people on plentyoffish.com and looked for women in Houston who met my physical appearance criteria.

Only three people met those criteria:

The first girl would not date anyone older than 25 (I will be 27 next month)

The second girl would only date people with a "good job"--something I will not have if I am going to school full-time

The third girl updated her profile to tell everybody that she had already found somebody else.

So my chances of meeting someone, even an NT, who is height-weight proportionate, is zero.
