The way you talk about this stuff reminds me of how people often talk about jobs. They think jobs are things that they're supposed to get from people, and that jobs are created by Obama. They never think that jobs are just a way of creating value. And because they don't focus on creating value for people, they have a hard time finding work. And they can't figure out why.
Until you can answer the question of what you have to offer, you will always be at the bottom of the pyramid under all the people who DO have things to offer.
I guess I'll have to disagree and leave it at that if you can't be civil and refrain from insulting me. The fact that there is any pyramid at all is telling of how screwed up society is. Everyone is equal and in this age any kind of competition is no longer necessary. It's the reason why the economy is no longer working, among other factors such as disproportionate pay between entry and high level jobs, and etc., but that's an entirely different topic.
Those aren't things that other living beings offer. I doubt that animals deliberately go out of their way to make those kinds of offers or think about such things at all. Relationships have much more to do with personality, sympathy and empathy than they do with making arbitrary deals. Why not just go to a prostitute if it's all about tit for tat?
