That may explain why there are less females on dating sites, they're less likely to be desperate.
There's some truth in Tias' words.
no, there are close to equal numbers of males and females on dating sites.
Quote:
Percent of male online dating users 52.4 %
Percent of female online dating users 47.6 %
http://www.statisticbrain.com/online-dating-statistics/quantcast (don't know how accurate that is) puts the proportion of women/men (as of October) who visit eHarmony at 57%/43%.
plentyoffish is 45%/55%.
Match.com is 51%/49%.
OKCupid is 39%/61%.
christianmingle is 56%/44%.
so it seems to depend on the site.
You always appear when I say that, every time, those numbers you bring are very meaningless hyperlexian.
What matters is the ratio of ACTIVE members (besides, there are way more fake 'female' profiles than fake 'male' profiles on dating sites, site owners always try to balance by adding fake women profiles).
Go to some dating site now, search for "Online now" members and compare, do it again on another site or in another area, do it again, again, again and again, you'll always notice that there are way more males than females.
