But what if I lose the weight, then I start struggling with weight and gain the weight back, then I'll just go back to the same place, at least for physical attraction, as I am now? I want somebody to accept me for who I am.

But having a relationship is also about taking responsibility for yourself. Yes, someone should love you for who you are, but the fact is that any relationship is difficult and will require both people to take responsibility for themselves, continually tuning their own behaviour, habits, attitudes, and even body weight. This is a process that everyone should be in the habit of doing, all the time, relationship or not, forever.

Seriously, push a little every day against the things you feel are holding you back. The list you gave came from your lips. Your list. Don't you think it's exciting that there are things you can do?

And if you find you put the weight back on, then resolve again to take it back off.

Never let up pushing against yourself, in as many ways you can.

I push against:-
- Negative attitudes.
- Too many visits to the cookie jar.
- Staying at home alone too much.
- Staying up too late at night.
- Stimming excessively.
- Not contacting what few friends I have.
- Being unproductive.
- Avoiding change.

This is not optional. Learn it. Really!

25 isn't too early to be pessimistic about it. I mean, most people, male or female, would consider someone who has been single that long creepy or maladjusted. It seems the general rule is, if you found at least one person by the time you're 18, you're okay. But if not, you're a hideous freak of nature. :(

Well I guess that I am a hideous freak of nature then :P

I didn't say that. I said that society considers people that are still single by that point, hideous freaks of nature. I don't necessarily agree with it, but that's how it is. Murmurings of "child molester" about guys and "crazy cat lady" about girls begin to happen, and that's when you know you've really hit rock bottom.
