I'm feeling the same way right now, Boo. I've started trying to date more seriously recently, and I also feel that it is exhausting and repetitive.

That plus expensive! Equality apparently doesn't override, "guy always buys first date".

Yeah, and it's not really a "who invited the other" issue, even when the girl invites the guy; It is still expected from thr guy to pay all or at least half, it's a gender-related "etiquette"; most girls never pay all regardless how the date happaned. Period.

And never suggest half-half because they *will* suspect you're a cheapstake lol - let her initiate the suggestion.

My policy though: If she insists to pay her half (in *genuine* way, some do pretend it but it's a s**t test, like my before last date was used to do), I insist to pay all ; regardless who's the inviter and the invitee. I just hate the type who feels entitled to never pay no matter what.

[me, joking tone:] You get the next one? ;) She giggles, smiles, then writes a text while I pay the bill, "I just didn't feel any chemistry."

Fortunately that was only 3 dates in a row... maybe someone will come along with a C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!! :thumright:

Why insist to pay all? Aren't you reinforcing the belief that the man should pay, thereby encouraging her to not bother offering in the future?

When I offer to pay my half, I almost always get argued down, so sometimes I just can't be bothered because it's not worth the hassle. I find it a type of "game" and it's tiring and stupid.

The belief exists whether we like it or not. I am talking about a first date tho; the later dates are totally different matter. Sometimes I feel doing it, sometimes not.

And oh; if the girl really believes in half-half, she'll suggest it again in the 2nd date or even invites back.

Update: Sunday the 2nd date will be, not Sat.

The *spark* is there, at least from my part, the same *spark * which was only felt with the nurse woman before (stopped dating because she moved to qatar) and which was totally missing with the previous woman.

I like her.

Well, it's about time to learn!! !!

She's texting me all the same after the date, which is a very good sign.

Talking about using smoothing technique, it is how I asked her out first time, during our convo, she was trying to guess something about me and she guessed it right, so I was like "Ok, for that, you win a prize!", she was like yay what it could be and I was like "an lunch invitation in [her fav restaurant]!" - and so how it happened.

Omfg, I AM becoming smooth :-| 8O
