I think 7 is obese.

9 would be pushing it for me, because I would likely get crushed having sex. But if it was someone I loved already and they got to that point I think I would still feel attracted. But I can't predict the future so I don't know.

i got to wondering about people's opinions regarding obesity, and who they would date. i suspect that the medical definition of obese is a different from the popular culture definition.

1. which one of these bodies qualifies as obese in your opinion (not morbidly obese, just obese)?

2. which one is the biggest size you would date?

please DO NOT snark on the pictures as people here on WrongPlanet actually look like all of these silhouettes. i see that people have been respectful in the thread so far, and that is very much appreciated - it is fine to have a preference, just don't be nasty about whichever types that you don't prefer.

My problem is that some of the people posting don't meet their own weight requirements.

for some people, they are maybe in denial about how big they are (i just read a study about that), so maybe the double standard arises from their faulty estimation of their own size. they think they have "just a few extra pounds" to lose, so they mistakenly believe that they are *almost* in the same weight category as other thin people, even though they are actually medically obese.

for other people, i am not so sure...

Interesting idea - much easier to think about it in specifics :D . Think I am about a 3 (female) and would date a man up to and including a 6. Having said that, I could find a man's personality and values attractive above that, but wouldn't find him physically attractive to the point where I would want to have sex with him.

I like them a little chubby. Also I'm skinny myself so it would look like the mating rituals of the deep sea fish where the small male attachs itself into a much larger female. It would be amusing.

Anything bigger than 6 or smaller than 2 is a nothx. I'd say maybe 7 or above is obese.

I reckon 7 is obese, maybe 6.

Anything bigger than a 5 would be unattractive to me.

I would call a six obese, and weight doesn't factor into my dating requirements.

so would you date (for example) a number 8 or 9 on the chart? if weight doesn't factor into your dating requirements then you would date someone that size, but number 8 or 9 is much bigger than 130 lbs.

Darn you. I'm saying that 6 on that chart is too big for me. I'll go above 130, which is huge to me, but only if she meets other requirements.

130lb isn't even an American size 6.

And I suppose I'm fat and obese for being 140lb and 5'7"

Heavens if anyone is even a few pounds heavier than a model they're huge and ugly. A few pounds over 130 is literally not far from bikini model thin. But it's not your fault; you're still young and stupid enough to let porn and fashion tell you what to prefer.
