would you feel that way if they wanted to date you?

I feel terrible about this, but I think that women who want me are brain-addled in some way.

2 months ago, as I was walking past 2 drunk young women, they told me that I was handsome. I stopped and chatted a little, but the language barrier was a little too high to enable further understanding.

This incident deeply confused me, and couldn't make heads or tales of it for days. It didn't make any sense to me. If I catch a woman looking at me on the train, I get very flustered; I can't handle it. I don't know what she's thinking. I always look away.

Are you sure of that? I mean, in all honesty, you would have to be constantly observing everyone around you to notice if anyone showed any interest... from your avatar, I don't believe it for a minute, in honesty. There is nothing wrong with you. You look fine.

I'll bet you have, you just haven't noticed it.

btw, I think Hale_bopp has a certain gene se qua. She hates attention seekers or being the centre of attention. The poor girl is cursed by beauty :)

Maybe. Or she loves the attention, and this is her round-about way of getting it. Doesn't much matter - I like her harsh opinions enough to ignore a lack of vanity.

i just checked the poll, and around 3/4 of us Aspies feel we are Ugly... now from the real pictures i have seen (well as long as the ARE real) we are anything but, so the question is...

why do we feel ugly if its not visually true? do we associate attractiveness with interest from the opposite sex?

if you cannot tell if people are interested and you pass them off as disinterested, then would that account for it?

Glad I am not the one to have said this, though it had crossed my mind. Always so many possible reasons for the way people behave...feel like doing a list of options for people to choose from, lol.

Yeah. I suspect (though who the hell am I to know?) that she has the insecurities, and actually partially enjoys the attention, but never quite believes it though. I don't think that people out and out like to lie (foolish innocent that I am). She is obviously attractive.

Back on topic, I never feel particularly attractive when I wear my glasses. They distort my face. Since I don't really look at people's eyes for long, glasses never bothered me on others. I just don't get it.

I feel average looking and I hate it when my mom calls me good looking.

heh. When I was young, I thought myself unattractive, and my mom would tell me that cp. I turned it all around on her when I got back from college, and started telling her that I was gorgeous.

I don't mind attention. But I don't live for it. I don't feed off it.

My policy is if you're not going to say something nice about someones photo, you're scum to say anything at all, (and no that isn't exclusive to me.. i've told a lot of people off for doing this to others).
