So each of the petals of a daisy is in fact several petals fused together. I suppose there is a structure that defines a petal.

I’m sort of interested in stuff like imploding/exploding faces. The symmetry of the torso and limbs and what controls the geometry of growth. I saw a program on it a while a go.

not sure, lol... i think they're the same type as that ligule thing... then yes... it's a developmental thing... they used to have more petals but they're fused in the "adult" flower, kinda like how YOU used to have gill slits while you were developing(one of those characteristics of being a chordate vertebrate :)

flowers are weird and i'm not a plant person... another cool one... sun flowers are actually a big aggregate of multiple flowers, with the ones out on the edges looking different... to give the illusion of one big flower.

for animals and anterior/posterior & dorsal/ventral development... try looking up genes like: bicoid/nanos/hunchback/retinoic acid for danterior/posterior regulation... and shh for dorsoventral development. those are some of the more important ones.

check out shh and cyclopamine... leads to some weird cyclop phenotypes if the shh gene is expressed incorrectly

Thank you so much. I heard about "sonic hedgehog". Thank you. I look into it, if I have I have any questions I'll get back to you. :P

I love her, she's extremely fond of me but can't reciprocate because I'm not a girl.
