I don't care what my partner looks like; interestingly enough, she is very pretty....

No, one can still notice "beauty" without needing it.

..... did someone mention corsetry? :D

Also Bazza, was that some sort of "real men love jesus/do whatever" style of statement?

I can assure you I am a real aspie and I DO care about appearance. I just find most people beautiful and those I don't, I don't treat like crap either.
In fact there have been studies to the effect of EVERYONE cares about looks to a pretty significant degree.
Even if its just subconscious, even if they say or believe otherwise.

Absolutely!

I just posted the other day that if you really watch NTs' faces when they are communicating, it's amazing how many of them make extreme facial expressions over and over that just seem to drive the wrinkles into their skin.

When I'm not forcing myself to make facial expressions for NTs' benefit, I've observed that my expression stays pretty neutral. I think that's why people are surprised to learn I'm over 40.

I think the ratio is the same as NTs... although its possible that ugly Aspies are more likely to commit suicide, and that may disturb the balance a bit.

Don't count on it. I can make a hell of a good looking
woman. Tend to act rather femme too.

Well, I mean, if the "Extreme Male Brain" theory of autism is true, we should have higher prenatal testosterone. Testosterone encourages right-brain development and scans show autistics have a higher incidence of right-brain dominance which leads to left-handedness and the ability to formulate logic (left brain) into art (right brain) , also because we tend to have different carriers in synapses, like focusyn. (Actually, I just made that name up but many aspies pay too much attention to logical systems like the flow of a water leak on a sidewalk.)

flow? RAM
declare{
O( var[youbody.thorax.arm.hand.left.ring](L) - @(local-1)[.flipper] )
trans= @(t[prenatal])[var:testosterone%arb]
}

(note:in case you don't know much computer science or math, or know too much and feel like you need to point out that my system is flawed: that wasn't a program; that was a declaration)

Off-topic, this thread is actually the 4th entry as of the last I checked when you query "manly autism." Of course, not many people will search for "manly autism."

I'm not sure if we would be described as "good looking," but many of us have smooth, clear, tight complexion and I've heard NTs like that kind of thing. :oops:

Quite a bit of both, but I don't recognize the
language. Little bits look like Perl, but not enough
to convince me.

Yeah, I have that clear, tight skin and I look years younger than I am (27, but I'm often carded and asked if I'm a student, well of course next month I'm an old grad. student). The Hugh Grant and people thinking I'm an English aristocrat still throw me off, I don't think that I'm thaaaat snobby...
