I don't conform to the male stereotype in various ways & I'm awkward which can throw others for a loop. People tend to want to put others in square boxes & there's only two options in their minds. It's an either,or midset. If someone is not X then they must be Y. I'm guilty of that myself sometimes. I want others to make sense & I want to know the kind of person someone is to better guage if they're safe or not before trusting them & when it comes to romantic relationships I want to determin if we might be compatible & if I might have half a chance with them or not before investing a lot of effort chasing someone who will never be into me like that. However lots of people, especially us Aspies tend to not fit nice & neat into square boxes & others don't know what to make of us. I've noticed that different people can have opposit opinions of me even on this forum.
