The 40-year old virgin, as much as I enjoyed the film and found it funny, is a dangerous film and dangerous cultural icon for those of us who are virgins at whatever age. It puts pressure and possible ridicule on guys like us. Pressure to have lost our virginity before 40 or be labelled.

The whole pressure to have sex thing is really stupid.

Sixteen is too young to be having sex. I didn't lose mine until 21 and it's not like I didn't have plenty of chances to give it up before then. So many things could go wrong having sex that young and then you screw up your life. Don't be in such a hurry.

I would only lose mine within a committed relationship, but I don't think I can wait until I'm married. This is one of the two reasons I don't go to church anymore (South Park is the other). But I am not an atheist, either.

I am 28 (well, I will be in a couple of months, anyway) and I still haven't lost my virginity.

A female net-friend of mine is still a virgin at 53, though (well, she has good reasons for that - a) she's a devout Catholic, and b) her father abused her when she was a girl) , so I feel no pressure to be having the sex at all. Ever.

There are a lot of us how remain virgins for a while, aren't there?
