I'd be perfectly happy to snog a guy I thought was attractive.

Well, I would if I wasn't so terminally afraid of that kind of intimacy, anyway :(

Homosexuality is a choice - a very important choice - the choice to be oneself.

At least that's how I see it. :P

The emphasis on choice is, to me, very important. It emphasizes responsibility. It is my active choice to pursue what I find myself attracted too, whether that be the cute girl who works at the corner store or my interest in Memento Mori/Hair-work Jewelery, honestly and with integrity.

It is also my choice to be open with those who are different whether they be gay, straight, aspie or neurouotypical.

I could choose the opposite but denial makes me grumpy :( and no good ever came from that.

Make a choice, make a difference!

Once again, I didn't mean that choice! That's your choice to PURSUE it. It wasn't your choice to be ATTRACTED to the same sex, it was your choice to ACCEPT it and INDULGE in it.

I'm a straight Catholic dude and since I can't snag a girl,
I would be more than happy to be gay.

I don't think you can choose your sexuality.

Honestly, how exactly do you force yourself to be attracted to something which is replusive to you while at the same time force yourself to no longer be excited by what excites you?

I don't think it is something that can be done without lying to yourself.

Do you not read? Do you not pay attention? One doesn't choose sexual orientation. It's something that reveals itself to you. Same for straight and gay alike. Think before saying something stupid...

Hasn't it been proven that homosexuality is a genetic brain variation?

No it has not. There are possibly genetic factors that may predispose one towards being gay but there has never been any "gay gene" that has been discovered.

There are currently no gay genes. But, that doesn't mean it's not genetics. There are genes associated with being gay. We don't know in detail how the vast number of genes work to cause behaviors yet. To suggest one can choose to be straight or gay is silly and simplistic...

Well, it would certainly make things a lot easier, at least as far as finding a romantic partner is concerned. Unfortunately, you can't just choose to be gay.

I thought about it when I was really lonely because homosexuals were interested in me but women never were.
