I am aware enough to realize you are speaking loosely and not sayin that all women worship money.
I know, yet I feel your sentiment. Money is the outward show of success and worth in this country. The under 24 crowd doesn't quiet relate yet; most still relate more to the college world. After 25, if you are not making great strides in or toward a career, or you are not making good money by other means, your value greatly diminishes. If by 30 you don't have a career, or are career displaced, or are not making good money (other means...) you are diminished goods. Same boat by 40? Forget about it....

This country thrives and survives on materialism. I don't think we realize this, but millions of women silently rate a man's success by his career or material wealth. Women over 25 may not realize they are making a silent judgment, but many of us men feel they do. They may fall for us temporarily, but once things get serious they go into the "nesting mentality"; they start planning finances and home and such. At that point if you are not well into plans to be upwardly mobile, your value to the woman diminishes. You are a risky venture.

It's still my view and those of men over 25 that If you don't have money, you had better have something remarkable about you (A talent, a sad sob story, etc...)
I don't subscribe to the ladder theory, but I do believe there is a sliding scale chart for sex appeal:
Money can be a great equalizer
If you don't have money, you had better have a lot of talent as a starving artist, be under 25 with plenty of college coed options, or be very a good looking bloke, or be a great genius yet undiscovered.
If you have been blessed with great looks, you won't need to worry about money

Having a life of the part personality can also compensate for the money or looks factor.

If you have average looks, average money and average everything, your chances will be average or less.
We can still make an accurate attraction chart if we try. I know there will be female neigh sayers, who on accident found some guy who's sweet and doesn't have much, and they are in love. Good for you :)!

Thank you for honestly sharing what you're felling Ohanoran.

I think there are biological reasons women look for a "provider" just like men look for "fertile". That gets discussed in depth on other threads.

But since I'm a behaviorlist (though that contradicts HAVING AS) I have the following theory.

Women are after lots of money for the same reason men are after big boobs.

They gets lots of publicity and adverising and we humans can't help but soak it up.

Pathetic isn't it? A woman wants lotsa bling, a man wants big booty and I want a cheeseburger all for the same reason.

Now thats just perverted.

( by the way I think Aspie Chav doesn't belong here. Anybody who gets his point across that well is a poet and shouldnt be hanging around WP  )

Ah my one dream...

The idea in my head of finding a girl who really understands me, who appreciates me and sees something in me that no one else can... it's almost like a silly fairy tale to me... but I like it. We are good by ourselves, but together we have tap into our awesomeness reserves.

As I am not very materialistic, well I'm looking for similar in a mate... or at least acceptance of this quality in me. It's a good filter I think, I wouldn't want her... and she wouldn't want me... so we won't even bother...
