For my boyfriend, who was raised very religious but has drifted away from it now, and who's always been so shy about relating to women as to have almost never been interested in an available one and sabotaged every opportunity he had to lose his virginity before me (and almost sabotaged it with me), it is a big deal, and an internal battle. We both think it would be good for him. It might help him build self-confidence in his ability to grow and change as a person and not be tied to social safety routines.

It's absolutely not by my own choice at all. I've wanted to have sex since at least my early teens but no woman has ever given me a chance. I'm looking for a serious relationship rather than just sex now, but still.. Why do women have to be so damn picky??

I'm not technically a virgin - slept with my best friend (a guy) when I was 21... But I still feel very much like a virgin, because a girlfriend is what I've really been wanting all along (since 14, anyway)...

Socially/emotionally, though, other females and me are like oil and water; either our differences are too huge or I simply can't relax enough to keep my head straight (heh, pun) and actually ask a girl that I like to go on a date - even if she's "out" and available. Usually, I can't even manage to be good friends with the ones I'm attracted to, because my nerves give out and my "oddness" takes over.

Thankfully, over the last 8 years or so (33 now), the raging testosterone or whatever the bleep it was that tortured me in my teens has settled down - but I'd still prefer not to die without ever having had a romantic relationship with a gal.

I suppose Time will tell.
