I can't help it. He said he was depressed because his life was boring and all I could think was how much excitement I secretly wanted put back into it. I stopped myself from pestering him to talk about his problem because I felt I wasn't being so selflessly altruistic as I was coming across. Behind it what I selfishly wanted was for him finally to open up to me emotionally and really tell me things about himself. This past year has given him plenty to be depressed about but somehow he keeps going and fighting it back with a stick. I guess avoiding talking about how he feels is part of his defense plan, keeps it in the background instead of in the fore and having to facing it.

she has a pedometer and told me she walked 8,767 steps yesterday (i wrote it down for future use in conversation)

I keep phrasing my sentences with "if", like there's a chance of it not working out, but there's really no reason for it at this point.
