I don't actually. I don't have a delightful attitude towards men either.
There's no sexism here, I don't have a delightful attitude towards culture and people in general in North America.

I hate to break it to you but you've got a generic misogynistic male attitude towards women, which is exceedingly common

There's nothing original or special about you I'm afraid

You will probably be surrounded by like-minded people wherever you go though - always one of the benefits of thinking like the lowest-common denominator

The only attitudes I have expressed are that:
- I am attracted to a certain type of woman, and not attracted to others
- If I am not attracted to a woman, I still treat her with respect
- "Femininity" is an aspect of physical appearance which is older than civilized society and a scientific basis of attraction based on the evolutionary paradigm of selecting the best mate to produce strong offspring - and they are essentially the characteristics that differentiate men from women in appearance - it is not related to who's "sexy" or "attractive" by today's society.
Some women look more masculine. Some men look more feminine.. and there are people who prefer people to look that way. Attraction isn't black and white, get over it.

If that's misogyny then I'm misogynistic, apparently. Everything I say around here is interpreted in that way anyway.
It's no wonder people don't take feminism seriously, there is absolutely no wiggle room for discussion, while militant feminists can say whatever the hell they want.

Isn't a discussion board there for people to say what they want?

Or is it just yourself who is allowed to pass comment but not others?

I did not find the way you spoke about the woman in the video respectful at all - that's the very reason I was driven to comment on it

Hm. Nah, I think you're pretty cute, but I like scrawny boys. I had to look up who Gerard Butler is. Not really my type.

I said she looked manly. I was asked "Why do you say that?", so I answered.
Just because it struck a nerve with you, that doesn't make it misogynistic.
This person is essentially an image to us, she doesn't really exist. I'm not going to sit here and talk about a member of WP that way..
Call that a cop-out if you will, but it's the truth - I will probably never meet that woman, and if for some reason I did, I would not treat her any differently than say, Olivia Wilde.
Although, if I met Olivia Wilde I probably wouldn't be able to get a word out of my mouth.

Are you really that dense?
Almost every single comment I have made on this forum has been about how much I can't stand mainstream culture... and you come back with telling me I'm obsessed with celebrities and keeping up the gossip?
f**k sake, really?

I used Olivia Wilde as an example because I find her breathtaking, it has nothing to do with the fact that she's a celebrity.
I could have used the name of someone I know in real life, but you wouldn't have a clue who I'm talking about, derp.

I wasn't referring to anyone on this board, thankfully there are at least no militant feminists here that I am aware of thus far..
I question whether you know what the term 'militant feminist' implies..

And in general, you can say whatever you want, but clearly you're full of s**t, and you're going to get called out on it.

I did! I am pretty damn bad about staying informed about actors/actresses and always forget their names after I do look it up. TBH, I've also never heard Pitbull until this thread made me curious enough to try. This is... what I'm seeing and hearing, this is not good!

I feel old now.

Pitbull has been around since 2004. But I never heard of him till few months ago I just recently got into his music. I was never into latin hip hop or even rap. But he's different. I asked this young woman about Pitbull and she never heard of him and she's 28!

I only know who he is from 300, and a few romantic comedies I was semi-forced to watch with ex-girlfriends

I'm low 30's. I like rap but I'm usually doing that White Person thing where I like a bunch of quirky indie hip hop and shun what's on the radio. Seems like it's always cocky dudes in clubs boasting about their money and babes! I just don't relaaaaate, man! :P

Most of the world apparently does though, hence he's a big success

it's all about the 'babes' (strictly non-masculine looking ones mind!) and the money for most people - this is why I find society so tedious!

I'm hoping he comes near me. My college does have a lot of concerts on campus. Green Day for instance is coming next month. The Killers came last year. Even LMFAO came. One Direction too. I'm sure Pitbull can come to my college, but I'm guessing more like Verizon Center in DC. I'm going to Seoul in the fall. It would be neat if he came the same time. I'm looking at any singers that will be in Seoul around the time I'm visiting. I'm staying at a hotel in Seoul that has a lot of singers do concerts.

You don't know anything about me, don't throw out these assumptions.
You're simply discussing one small issue of society with me.
Perhaps you would like to discuss the issues raised by consumerism in popular culture? How consumerism has become the new ideology of the north american public, nearly a pseudo-religion of sorts?
How about the concept of enjoyment interpreted by Lacanian psychoanalysis, as an injunction, the "call" to enjoy - the superego?
Perhaps you would prefer to discuss mainstream culture in terms of theology? In terms of the patriarch structure of the judeo-christian ideology which directly opposes the true purpose of a self-ruling 'democracy'...
Maybe in terms of politics then, and the illusion of choice propagated to the american public by the mainstream media?
Don't start with me, and don't assume you know anything about me. I dumb myself down around here, there's no need to refer to concepts and ideas outside of the grasp of the "average" to make a point when it's so terribly simple..
I get it, alright? I struck a nerve because you don't feel like you're "feminine". Your self esteem is not my burden, so get out of my face.
