i did some thinking about this. am i the only person who has noticed that visiting prostitutes has done very little (or nothing) for reducing bitterness? at least for the men here on WP.

if anything, it seems to make men angrier and more bitter after they visit them. but i can only speak about the men who speak publicly about visiting them. presumably not everyone speaks openly about it.

I am glad that you understand that male clients are victims too. I left a little shell shocked when I left my first.

I think we are again forgetting that legalizing might reasonably save money.

I'm not sure quite what to make of this statement and I don't know whose money is going to be saved by legalisation.

For what it's worth, I see this as a complex ethical issue and financial considerations are usually deliberately excluded from any ethical debate.

Slavery would no doubt save money, but that would be no reason for its being re-legalised.

well, honestly, i do think that for some men visiting prostitutes does nothing at all to help them with their sexuality. one single study tried to evaluate how it changes men's perception of women and sex to visit a prostitute, but that study was biased and did not help anything at all. i definitely think that the situation of people who have never had sex deserves a good hard honest look.
