As I said in many posts in the last few months, I look at people like Chris Pine, Tevin Campbell, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston, and do you know what they have in common? They're all single. So, with that, I feel much better about myself, and I am hopeful my woman will come into my life soon. :D

You are still unable to distinguish between "needs necessary for keeping one alive" and the other needs, in the scientific literature or even in any literature, needs aren't necessarily just food, water and oxygen, you are way limiting the word's meaning, shelter for example is considered a human need, but theoretically you don't need it to stay alive. Wants are created by marketing and consumerism and are never biological, like the wants for products and electronics, sex existed since....the sexually reproducing eukaryotic organisms.

I am aware of how needs are spoken of; I just think it degrades the word to speak of needs as anything other than something essential for life. It's as though we expanded the definition of death to mean things other than actually dying.

Sex/intimacy is even more basic than the shelter and clothing needs because it is absolutely necessary for the species survival (continuity), it's integrated in our genome and evolved over zillion of years.

The fact that it's essential for species survival doesn't mean that it's essential for any particular individual to have sex; only that it's essential that enough members of the species have sex so that the species itself doesn't die out or fall victim to widespread inbreeding.

You always mock/belittle others and talk to others here as if they are ret*ds and below your oh-so-high intellectual level, you should realize that this is your constant attitude on WP in case you haven't noticed yourself; you often show little to no respect.

So you started off by bringing my supposed attitude toward others into it. Either this is just about how I was supposedly mocking you, or it isn't.

They choose to be single. I don't think you'll find many people on here who could say the same.

^ @TheGoggles: Even at that, it is a bit comforting for me.

Within the darkness of the night and as the moon rises, I look up into the night sky and wonder where is my mate to be, howling I cry out her unspoken name in hopes she will do the same,. Oh my lonely song I sing, howling seemingly in vain. With even Broken hearts and broken dreams my lonely call remains the same. My heart always feels like its dying with half of it gone, in crisis to find her so our two lonely hearts can be made whole as our voices now sing of joy as one.

That's quite a funny image, actually.

I'll end here by saying again that I'm sorry I hurt your feelings; I honestly didn't mean to, and that anything I say in future is not meant to cast any aspersions on your intelligence etc.

I don't really see being single as a "crisis", but definitely feel left out because both of my siblings, and many of the people whom I've gone to school with or gotten to know via the Internet have gotten married. Plus at 35, I kind of feel like I'm getting to the age where it's going to be harder to find someone.

It's only a crisis if you want it to be a crisis. For some people - namely those who function well in a relationship and feel more emotionally fulfilled in such circumstances, are more likely to view singledom as a crisis. Such a crisis can be real.

My last few relationships might be accurately described as crises. Valentine's Day just gone, I marvelled that I had spent 0% of my day pandering to an attention-seeking idiot that thought she was some sort of Disney princess.

Being single has its ups and downs, though I'm pleased to report it's never a crisis.
