yes, I don't either but many people find it either easier personally for their own comfort or just to fit social "norms"

Well, men aren't allowed to keep their beards au naturel in workplace either.

^^

They have been allowed to at most any place I've ever worked. I guess can see maybe a bank or a law office having some kind of dress/personal grooming code, but then I've made it a point to not work at those kinds of places. :D

The restaurant industry won't allow beards because of the chance that a hair could fall on food or a dish. I washed dishes at IHOP for 10months & they wouldn't allow beards for that reason & required cooks & dishwashers to wear IHOP caps/hats if they weren't bald; I kept my hair short so they didn't require me to wear one sense I was a dish-washer & did a really good job at making sure those dishes were clean. A beard could give a worse impression on a job interview or any job where dress/grooming is important for dealing with people like clients or business execs.

OK, that makes sense. I guess I could also see a case for health care professionals not being wanted to have facial hair (although both my doctor and the phlebotomist in his office have full beards and mustaches, they are trimmed).

But somehow I can't see leg and/or body hair being an issue for any workplace.

Ah, is it again the "But I am so stupid, and let others terrorize me with senseless needs, so you must be as stupid as well" argument?" My middlefinger goes to the fancy office industry and I am absolutely happy in my "We dont give a f**k about fashion." basic building industry.

This probably will take me the whole night to decipher it.

Or maybe I am really stupid.

I'm very self-conscious about my body, to the point that I've always worn a shirt while swimming, ever since I was a kid. I never go out in public without a shirt, especially since I started gaining weight around age 15. To this day, my mother refers to me as a "teddy bear", but I often see myself as a hairy marshmallow. I don't tan at all, just sweat and burn. :(
