Men have great inherent value, but most of society's constructs have been made to replace men's natural intrinsic value. Strength is replaced by machine, loyalty and kinship is replaced by contract, pregnancy privision can be replaced by welfare, etc. Especially male sexuality has little intrinsic value hence why there are so many men willing to compensate that lack of intrinsic value for resources such as money. To make up for this lack of intrinsic value men have to gain social status through various avenues to have any chance in the dating market at all. The factors you mention such as companionship, human touch, shared experience are considered of much lesser value in individualistic societies. These values are appreciated in societies where familial bonds and cohesion are a strong aspect of daily life, this isn't the case in many modernized areas.

The greatest struggle is getting friendship and relationships in the first place. The alternated reality is created by a lack of social interaction due to social ostracism. If no one wants to interact with you then you automatically return to your own reality, which compounds the issue. It is well known that people with autism who have had a healthy childhood and a steady social circle fare much, much better than those who have been relentlessly bullied and socially isolated. It's a catch 22 that is very hard to break out of especially since the older you become the less people will accept deviant behaviour.

The value of men to women, is like the value of ATM to the card holder - the OP is an alien case, and as I said, most women would oppose to her.

And I even highly doubt that the OP applies what she claims here in real life; therefore, maybe not so alien after all.

My dealbreaker is intelligence. I would be interested in an ugly poor guy if he is intelligent.

Currently I find myself dumped by my long time fwb. He is moving in with a woman I don't know in August.

So feeling a bit like a loser right now. And kinda jealous as they're moving into a house with a yard, which Henry would love! I asked him if Henry could run in it and he said it would be awkward. So I think it's a serious relationship.

I really am not relationship material though. I'm not much fun.

Honestly androbot01? I really don't believe when a woman talks such idealism, like she doesn't care about money, and would prefer a smart poor guys - sorry, but I don't believe you.

A yard is not a dealbreaker.

A preference becomes a dealbreaker when you have several suitors.

Oh come on now, don't deny that you had several suitors to pick of when you were younger.

I kinda ghosted through the first twenty years. No one really noticed me. Then this older guy who I came to hate took me under his wing. It wasn't until my thirties that I moved on.
No one ever really pursued me. I tend to drift into relationships and then out of them.
But honestly I'm not in a position to offer much right now.

Worth and value, unfortunately, are far too tied up in financial position. An Australian online friend of mine once commented that where he comes from, it's the epitome of rudeness to ask a man -- or woman -- what he or she does for a living right out of the gate. It's viewed as sizing up someone's worth and value as a person.

I think a persons value system is individual, perhaps its just my perspective, men are just people.

I do not want to be exploited again, so financial independence is something I would value in a man. Don't care what he earns as long as its enough to support himself.

Another area where men have value is their physical differences, strength for example.
It takes me longer, but with the assistance of a hand cart dolly I can manage most tasks, occasionally though I cant and at that point upper body strength has tremendous value.

well most women don't want their bf to hang out around people he use to sex with, so this usually means an end to a friend who was a fwb. I get it. I wouldn't want my gf hanging out with a former fwb either.

would you?

I think you're a find person ann.

so if hes able to live off 700 dollars a month and deosnt' like to go out, that would be ok?

often these women place such high standards because they want to go out all the time and go on expensive vacations so they want a guy who can pay for all that. why don't' they just pay for it if they want it so much is what I don't get.
