^ It is still utter ridiculous to make a such fuss over a missed meal.

Maybe the other good restaurant was far and time already late. We don’t know.

It probably would have been best had Retro cooked her the burger.

Unfortunately it may not have been a one off type of thing. Little resentments build up over time over partners feeling like they're being ignored constantly.

Anyway only two people really know what happened and that's Retro and his GF. They do need to both work on their communication.

Sure it just wasn't PMS. You do not want to talk to me a week before my period.

I don't know whether or not she has PMS. Is there a way I can tell?

My psychologist suggested her mood may have been altered by her birth control pills.

BCP are evil. When I take them I get extremely depressed, gain weight, lose my sex drive and it changes the way I act towards my partner. Normally I’m quite independent and we do our own things and everyone is happy. When on the pill I get super clingy, want my boyfriend to anticipate my every desire and get really upset when he doesn’t. It makes me feel abandoned, like he doesn’t love and appreciate me. These changes happen slowly so it’s hard to even recognize that it’s happening. Most doctors won’t even mention the possibility of these horrible side effects.

If you want to understand female cycles there’s a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. There are only 5 days during a cycle that it’s possible for a woman to get pregnant. If you really want to avoid pregnancy they advise avoiding sex during these times even when using birth control, which is never 100% effective. I know you don’t want a baby now but having her on the pill just might be making your relationship harder than it needs to be.

The Pill also causes the risk of stroke to rise astronomically.

I can't believe women in this thread are actually justifying her childish behaviour. It says something.

They often accuse our gender of being expressionless of our feelings and emotions - yet we see many women justify the silent treatment.

Isn’t that funny?

If she were in the kitchen all of this wouldn't have happened. :shameonyou:

I wouldn't be so sure that she is taking birth control pills.

Retro, does she have a job?

At-stay-home partners often develop immature patterns.

And it's absolutely adorable that men who consider themselves "logical" and "above such things" have completely ignored the OTHER men in this thread who have also stated and agreed that Retro probably did not handle the situation as well as he could have. So cute.

They don't really think that, they're just white-knighting. Either that or they have a macho vision of relationships where it is ok for a woman to be childish and the man must put up with that s**t.

Trying to explain a woman's behavior in response to her partner's actions is not justification, it is simply that: it's a possible explanation. Justification would suggest that her behavior was correct, and no one here has done that. We have only attempted to guess at why she behaved the way she did. So please lose the misogyny, guys, it's boring.

What does it say?

I never said that her behaviour was correct. When the pill changed my behaviour I was disgusted with myself and didn’t want to be behaving that way but I just couldn’t stop it. It feels similar to when I start to get overwhelmed by my senses or emotions and want it to stop but I just can’t control it. Men have no idea how powerful female hormones are and how much they can affect our behaviour. It would have saved me a couple of relationships if someone would have told me that the pill can change your personality so much. I’ve talked to soooo many men that complain about their ex’s behaviour and then they mention she was on the pill and their behaviour fits this same dysfunctional pattern. I’m just trying to share my experience hoping it might help someone.

You sound exactly like these guys who after a school shooting say: "Maybe if the others were nicer to them... We are not saying that what he did was ok, we have only attempted to guess at why he behaved the way he did."
I didn't know that questioning a woman's behaviour was misogyny. Why don't you try to argument instead or spitting out labels?

That's very interesting, do you think that you are a special case or it's having a similar impact on very large numbers of women?

Ok, I am going to ask the men here:

Men of this thread: Would you make drama and fuss if your girlfriend/Wife invites you to donuts? (as a dinner) Is it really an issue for you? Would you feel insulted? Abandoned or ignored?

They are saying so knowing how many women would get upset on that though, such as kraftie said how it's a bad idea to take a woman to Mcdonalds and when he did so in the past he got bad reactions, he was talking out of his experience with women - and that really isn't in your favor.
