with all due respect, i have to ask, would you be ok if the fellow "took care of his own needs" so to speak?

Might conflict with the strong christian requirement

"strong christian"≠"be fruitful and multiply" IMHO. there is an inconsistency there. not wishing one's mate to take care of their own needs is not compatible with the mental health of said mate, unless that person is an eunuch.

When Onan had intercourse with Tamar, he withdrew before his orgasm and "spilled his seed on the ground", since any child born would not legally be considered his heir. The next statement in the Bible says that Onan did evil and that God slew him.

It's a deal breaker

That’s if people take the Bible absolutely literally.

Onan, for any sensible person, is a symbolic story. Or a story which was applicable to Biblical times—but not ours.

I don’t believe in forced celibacy myself.

If I fall in love with a woman, and it turns out she doesn’t want to have sex, I would accept that. What I wouldn’t like is if she goes “back and forth” on the issue.

I don't have an ideal partner. Someone I click with I guess.

Someone who is laid back,

a little bit into themselves,

a tiny bit smelly,

has pastime (must not include dissecting my brain)

funny face (expressive)

Sleeps well

I don't have an issue with piles of clothes on the floor, leaving the dishes for a day, a little bit of body odour....

My ideal partner is Jesus Christ. He is not into religion and I admire Him for that. Besides He is perfect, whereas I am far from it.

by and large, in recent years, the person who has been expending the most loving energy to me, stares back at me in the mirror.
