Tim I think we all develop a picture of what we find attractive as we get older. My ex-husband lost a lot of weight in a span of a couple of years. I use to hate to even look at him (in reality it had nothing to do with the weight lose, but the fact he was very cruel and abusive to me.) I thought when I filed for divorce I would never look at a skinny person again. I actually told my friends that very thing. Then I find myself totally smitten with a tall, skinny man that just happens to have Aspergers. We are just really good friends right now, but if I had stayed to my list of what I thought was perfect for me I might never have given him a second thought. And now I think about him several times a day. I think you are short changing yourself out of not giving some really nice people a chance. After all when the lights are turned off what does it matter?

What about killing yourself? Or yelling the N word in the middle of Harlem? Or supergluing your private parts to a train?

Depends what you find more agonizing--a few hours of physical pain, or a life time of misplaced desire.

Or in the case of killing yourself, death...

And I don't know how many geologists make $100,000 a year, assuming that's what I still want to do. If I made that much, I would drop the $50,000/year criteria.

In other words, our combined incomes would have to equal $100,000 a year.

so your using her for a car  or will be

How can I afford a $37,000 car if the combined income isn't at least $100,000, and where I depend solely on my own income?

If these criteria aren't reasonable, then what are?

If your net income is greater than your living expenses, you have the option to save up...

I already listed mine in another thread, and even though that was really just a parody of this thread, other people have been saying that my criteria are "reasonable"...

But you won't be around to mourn yourself. Because, in the words of Jafar, there are things so much worse than death. (And he would know.)

Find someone that cares about you as a person and will accept you as you are. You should be able to do the same for her. As you get older the most important thing is having a value system that is compatible. It would be wise to realize that boobs sag, the car will break down, and ambition comes from being interested in life. I know several couples that marry because of that first attraction and when that starts to fade, they have little to keep them together. If I was to ever marry again I would want someone that had at least 90% of the same values I have. Looks has very little to do with anything as far as I'm concerned, but what's inside of the heart has everything to do with it. Don't sell yourself short and try to find your DREAM GIRL. After all if she was all the things you request and didn't care about you, what would you actually have?

No NT will tolerate any shortcomings I might have, and there are no Aspies where I am.

I don't understand...you reject the possibility of dating an NT on the grounds that they are shallow and materialistic, and then you set up a criteria with income, degree, and breast requirements? How can you even demand to date only those with degrees and moderate income if you are still a student without a job? Nobody has a criteria like this, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

If there are NT's out there that are not pathological liars (as people here have been telling me), then there definitely has to be NT's out there that will tolerate your "shortcomings"...

Serious question: Which would you rather have, a Buick Enclave, or eternal love with a compatible woman? For the sake of the hypothetical question, assume you must choose one. If the car is that important, go for it, your desires and choices are none but your own business. Just be prepared for the reaction to your choice...

and does she have to be as f*****g materialistic as you are as well?
christ. you don't want a partner for love, you just want a partner with an income.
before this thread, i had a better image of you. you don't want a person, you want an ideal.
and if you are going to acuse anyone, nt or not, of having shortcomings, take a look in the mirror. your list just proves that your narrowmindedness is a huge shortcoming in yourself. does that make you an nt? does that make being an nt a bad thing? thanks. i married one.
as for finding someone perfect, i guess you'll just have to look to yourself and your hand.

good luck. you need it.

She was one of the few people on here who was goal-oriented. There have been time where I would come on here and every other thread was about video games. I tried being myself and being insightful and trying to help others, but it was always the trolls and the gamers and the slackers that were well-liked.
