what i mean is that he didn't actually ask her out on the thread. and if he is intending to do so... when asking a person out it is a very bad idea for the person to protest the possibility of rejection in the same breath. it puts the askee on the spot.

This is a rather dumb and inane concept for a thread.
If you're attracted to someone and had the nerve to communicate about it you would pm the person, and not announce it on a thread like this. Not sure what the distinction "hypothetical" means in the context of this subject since any attraction would start out hypothetical.

But despite its seeming inaneness it gone on for 47 pages.

Anyone close to my age who lives in what I'd think of as a neat travel destination (Aus/NZ, Calgary AB, South America, Europe) might have a shot at me as a vacation-boyfriend *if* they're willing to put me up with a place. :wink:

Just remember to put in your summer petitions. I'll review them and see what's a) in my travel budget and b) which location on the globe strikes my fancy the most. :)
