One serious relationship - ended pretty badly and rather costly (accommodation contracts...). Looking.

I debated whether to pick single & looking or not looking. I finally decided not looking was being the most honest. I've been single for 3 yrs. If I did meet up with someone interesting I might consider dating, but I am not actively looking for someone. Does that make sense? At my age there isn't much selection left. I've done a lot of dating in the past and the selection seems wraught with emotional or physical abusers, alcoholics, druggies and the unmotivated the older one gets. Seems like all the good ones are taken. I still hold to the hope there is one other nice person left who is still single and looking, but how to find them. I work a lot and barely have time for my pets so I've come to the realization it wouldn't be fair to have a relationship with someone when I have no time to give them. Ok maybe we could go out to dinner once a week, but that's it. :?

I think it's "Long-term relationship" if you have a real girlfriend.

Greetings,

I haven't been posting as much recently now that I am back in school, plus I've been working - but I'm still single. And, I've never felt more of a yearning for a relationship. I have strong emotional connections with a small number of girls, which is excellent, but they are either in a relationship (and I am very good friends with them) or I just haven't been able to act on my desire for one reason or another. I am yearning for so much more.

I've got one big thing on my side though, that I did not have a year ago. That would be confidence. I believe I have much greater confidence now than I did previously, thanks in part to my customer service job, and others who have helped draw me outwards over time.

The past and the present may be gloomy, but I see light at the end of the tunnel.

This has been an update from the ELLCIM newsroom.

He is an NT but is understanding of the fact I have AS. In fact he doesn't view it as a problem at all. He says it's part of me and it is everything about me that he adores so I'm happy :D

Why does it have to be long-term or engaged? What about short and medium term relationships?

I'll take note of that for my future use. :D

Oh, and congratulations to you by the way! We did talk once through a PM but understandably the distance is just too far. I have enough trouble with Toronto, let alone England. :P

Single, but mostly because I don't have the money required to pay for a date, I don't have a car (but that's a different issue), and I'm not prepared to handle the responsibility of a long-term relationship.

You don't need much money at all for a nice date. Even just having someone over for a drink is nice. It's not about what you do, or how much money you spend - it's being together.
