^_^ That is sweet. Also, I think a lot of people are naive about the issues and vulnerabilities of women with Asperger's, as you say. It's good to see someone recognize and overcome it.

But I don't mean to derail the thread. Please continue with your jell-o love fest. As for the question, there are some people here who seem date-able. No names from me, however.

Dunno if you remember but 5 years ago on some forum (either this one or Intensity I can't remember which) I think I accussed you of being weak because you took anti-depressents 8O Well if you don't remember good, if you do I sincerly apologise for mocking you in the past as I believe I was somewhat naieve of the issues and vulnerabilities of women with aspergers at the time.


HAHA talk about a long online memory. What made you change your mind about anti depressants? As far as I'm aware they're only really needed for major depression? I know they're commonly used for lesser depression though.

You're probably right. I have issues with myself and believe people who tell me i'm useless and worthless, and that is a weakness in itself.

I don't remember that, but i'm not on them for depression, but for anxiety and obsession compulsion.

What changed my mind? Having a partner with bi polar depression, working with vulnerable autistics as a student nurse, working with a dual-diagnosis nurse out in the community, the violence discimrination and hatred my ex with AS recieved when growing up from her own community. Working with some pretty messed up asperger people 2 years ago. Also I've made loads of female friends on the spectrum since then. Understanding the actual use of such drugs in clinical practice. Dispensing such drugs myself to people under my care, seeing their side effects and the change they can have on a persons mood in time combined with a theraputic intervention.

most people on this site say they value intelligence over looks, but they can not perceive intelligence from people with average looks if they are only listening to who they find physically attractive.

I don't post my pic in those threads, though I have sent it to online friends, and besides, I'm not looking for anyone. I can't handle another painful breakup right now...and being aspie I've gotten used to not having a fan club, so the above is just a matter of intellectual interest, but true nonetheless.

I like seeing pictures of people here. I consider the people here my friends, so it's nice to see them. It's like a tiny luxury. I also find just about everyone here pretty and really only consider the ones who are consistently bitter or spiteful to be ugly, regardless of their looks.

Pictures make the poster seem more real to me because I can imagine that person at their computer.

Yes! Me too. I am fairly sensorialy-oriented, so being able to imagine a person's appearance and voice and the way they move, for example, help a lot to make the person seem real and solid and whole to me. And I agree completely RE: ugly people. Generally people only look ugly if they act ugly, too.

I don't know that I can tell enough about a person through their writing to know if I'd want to date them, but there is a girl here I find very interesting and would like to get to know. I'm not guna say who she is though because she's in this discussion :oops:
