Yeah that sounds ridiculous. Some guys just don't feel the urge to date. Big whoop. That just makes the search for a man easier for women as the ones who aren't interested will be holed up in their room trying to save a pixelated princess from a castle.

Assuming that because the urge exists that it can't be repressed is just silly. The last statement is true enough but I doubt it has any importance except to people who do date.

Of course it would be important to those who date because those who don't want to date won't even benefit from this article anyway. They'd be like, "LOL PIXEL TITTIES FTW!!!111!! !"

How so? If they don't want to date they might be interested in others who share similar philosophies, discussing their choices is the easiest way to benefit from them.

It is apparently a poll done by the Playstation3 website of 1130 British men. It isn't really all that shocking.

The top one.

Really from here it's just a matter of figuring out how many British men play video games.(I'm looking now)

I meant benefit as in getting women, men, sockpuppets, whatever tickled their fancy really. XD

Why would the definition of benefit be limited to getting women?

*shrug* Because this is the love and dating forum? Also, I didn't say just women. I also included men and sockpuppets. That and I know there are other forms of benefiting but in the context of this topic and forum, the benefit is love.

hmmm, I can't comment on the availability of love or the detriments and benefits it might bring, such a poll could not be done anyways.

So how is that the topic? The topic of this thread is most certainly dating and it's benefits as opposed to it's costs.

Also your limiting of benefit still makes no sense to me, the article is concerning costs and benefits in relation to dating, wouldn't elements in conflict with the gratifications obtained from dating be included? That is more than just sock-puppets and such, your definition would explicitly eliminate video games as a legitimate benefit of not dating which makes no sense considering the threads title.

That's probably because I feel that human companionship is more beneficial to a person than videogames. Don't get me wrong, gaming can be fun but it sure as hell isn't a replacement for human companionship.

Me and Steel have already gone over the relativity of values in regards to this argument.

Women will trade their body's for drugs, so will men. In reality - leveling up to that next level is a high. Although not beneficial in any way, the feeling obtained from completion (over and over and over) is probably the same as that rat pushing the button and killing itself in pleasure that we've heard so often. Until the lines between healthy and unhealthy button pushes are understood, I believe we will all be slaves to our wills rather than our brains.

If the rat was given a poll, between the button - or his "wife" .. he probably would have picked the button.

-_- slave to our wills, even if I make sense of that, why would I want to be slave to anything except my own will? And what should guide our wills if not our brains?

Opinions aren't necessarily rules, I believe in the fallibility of man on every level.. including rational thought, and informed sound decisions. This includes myself.
